Suspension Support for 2022 Honda Pilot Towing Boat Trailer

Updated 08/25/2026 | Published 08/03/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Honda Pilot. I want to haul my small boat, about 2000 lbs, but it needs more suspension in the back. Adjustable shock or similar. Do you have anything that will do this and not ride like a buckboard when not towing or hauling.

Hey Kurt! All of the options for your 2022 Honda Pilot are going to be a universal fit. The Coil SumoSprings # CSS-1125 you were looking at will be the most effective, and won't ruin your everyday ride quality when you aren't towing or hauling.

What you need to do is measure the gap in your rear coil springs. If you have a .9375”- 1.1875” coil gap they will fit your vehicle. If you have a different measurement let me know in the comments below and I can help you find the right fit.

What kind of boat do you have and where do you typically take it?

@Kurt sorry I failed to mention that. Park it on a level surface, measure as it sits with the truck weight on the springs. You don't need to try to lift it and take weight off or anything like that.

@RobinH It looks like the spring gap (inside to inside) in the middle of the spring is about .865 and the center to center of the spring is about 1.375" Kurt

@Kurt # CSS-1094 is designed for a .6875” – .875” Coil Gap so that would fit your measurement.
