Question:

I would like to try Coil Sumosprings on my 2017 Highlander Hybrid to somewhat counteract squat while towing. The trailer is 2300 lb dry weight and tows fine at 55-65 mph. with a Curt echo for braking.When hooked up I get 2 of squat at the hitch. I measure 7/8 between the rear coils when parked with a full tank of gas. Which model of spring should I order? I should mention that I have a weight distribution hitch but I am not using it since the hassle of removing for reversing then re-installing doesnt seem necessary when my only problem seems to be squat.

There is no coil spring confirmed to fit on your 2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid's rear axle. In order to find a Sumo Springs setup that works for your vehicle, you are able to use the printable template linked below to find which kit will work for you. To measure, you cut the template out, and stick the template between your coils on your unloaded vehicle. The largest size that fits in your coils will be your best fit. How are you using this setup? Is it just road trips or are you planning on going off road at all with the trailer?

This is a 21 ft RV which I don't take off-road. I get the same measurement but I read somewhere that the next size up which is 1145 is preferred by some as it remains slightly engaged even when driving without a trailer. Apparently it provides slightly more support against squat. I'm wondering if anyone can confirm this and comment on how difficult it is to slide this larger part into position.

@ArthurR If you can make it fit, then it will work but it's going to be a lot more difficult to install a larger size and it then doesn't follow the manufacturer's instructions for use. I would recommend sticking with the # CSS-1125 for safety if that's the measurement you get.
