Lower step for access to storage and also protection for the bumper from other cars that get too close.
Do not buy a locking pin. I bought one and after almost a year could not fit key in. Had to rent a truck as time was of the essence.
Awsome step… provdes great access to roof for cargo and washing… has saved my bumper from a couple of errant taps from distracted drivers in traffic so it is a worthwhile investment to protect your car…
I was surprised by the amount of flex this thing has in it. I like WeatherTech as a company with their all American sourced manufacturing, but this item doesn't seem like it's something I'd trust as a step. I'm 190lbs and it definitely flexed when I stepped on it. There are multiple holes in the tongue of the step, so make sure you mount it as deep as you can to reduce flex. Stepping on the ends cause it to flex even more. It may provide some cushioning in minor bumps, so I'm going to keep it in when I'm not towing.
Had the hitch for a year now and still works great! No complaints and I use it weekly with a platform attachment.
Hitch was an exact fit on a 2015 Dodge Durango Limited. Hitch took about 20 min to install. Very easy as long as you have the right size socket or wrench for the car.

Great for reaching the top of the car when washing
It has been a game changer for letting me get into the back of my electrical van! Was originally worried about its strength but it has been really solid even being 280+
This step twists if your weight is not in the center. Don't climb on this step with wet shoes it can twist and you can slip off.
Looks like a good product. I will use this as an extra step for the back of my truck and pickup camper. Hard to find product. I've several good items shopping with etrailer for my older North Star Truck camper... lights, trim, etc. Always good products sent out in a timely manner.
I was disappointed in this purchase. Advertised as "composite" (which, to me, means multiple materials) but it is an expensive piece of plastic. It cost more than the steel or stainless options, which I'm sure are much stronger. This flexes under my weight (175 lbs) and I can't imagine it will protect the bumper in an accident. If I could do it over, I'd go with a stronger material.
This BumpStep Hitch-Mounted Bumper Protector and Step for 2" upto 300lbs fits perfectly on my Atlas 2022.
I received the delivery very quickly and was surprised it shipped on a Sunday. The product fits very well and look perfectly like it was custom made. Would be great if there was a pin that locks instead of the metal clip that anyone can take off.
This step seems to be very strong. It's nothing flashy. But it looks good and it serves the purpose. I weigh 190 and I have no reservations at all about standing on it.
I got the etrailer Stainless Steel Hitch Lock to go with this step, and it all looks very nice on the vehicle.
Order was acknowledged by e-mail and tracking information was easy. Product arrived quickly. Very easy to install - perfect fit and looks great.

Product is holding up well through western MD ice, slush, single digit weather and road salt. Comes in handy and still looks brand new.
A year later, no issues. I installed the harness through the inside of the van as opposed to outside along the frame. Much cleaner with maybe 15 minutes more install time. Check [online] for videos.
Ordering was simple received the product in 5 days, step works fine. The only reason I don't give a 5 star rating is you have to purchase the trailer pin separate, I would have ordered the pin at the same time if I knew about it, not after the step arrived and read the instructions.
I got the bumper step....its incredibly light weight, but strong and very easy to install. etrailer does a great job of getting the product in the mail quickly and packaged so the product does not get damaged. This is the second product I've purchased from etrailer, and I've been extremely satisfied with both.
The weather tech hitch-mounted bumper step/protector was delivered today and appears to be well built. As usual the etrailer service was excellent.
Exactly as described, great product, and protects my rear bumper from parking scratches and dings.
The step is a nice addition to the back of my Jeep. Like how it will protect the rear bumper when my wife parks behind it. Product was delivered quickly. I’m well pleased.
Just what I wanted. The fit was perfect and the extra holes for the hitch pin gave me options on the extension length. Now I feel better about parking at the supermarket.

Looks good. Color matches existing bumper. Hope I don't get to check it out with a rear end collision. (just joking) I'm sure I will enjoy it as a step.

Still using it simply as a bumper guard during the winter. Holds up fine to Upstate NY winters when Im not towing. Hasnt gotten bumped so cant speak to effectiveness as a bumper guard.
