WeatherTech Hitch Step for confident footing

WeatherTech hitch steps give you a sturdy boost and added bumper protection. Pick a compact step or a wider option if you want more standing room, and keep in mind the attachment style—bolt-down setups can limit play while a standard hitch pin may allow some movement. These often work without affecting backup cameras or sensors, and a hitch pin may be sold separately. Mount it deep in the receiver to reduce flex.
WeatherTech offers narrower steps around 11 1/2 inches and wider options around 23 1/2 inches. Wider steps give a larger platform, while some versions use a bolt that tightens against the receiver to reduce play; standard hitch pins can allow some play. If rattle reduction matters, look for versions with a tightening bolt or add anti-rattle hardware when available.
They are sturdy and well made, but some flex can be felt, especially when stepping on the ends. Insert the shank as deep as you can to reduce flex. Step near the center for the most solid feel. If using a locking pin, check key fit and function over time to avoid issues. Also verify if a hitch pin or linchpin is included or sold separately.
WeatherTech hitch steps are designed for 2" hitches. Verify your receiver is 2" before ordering. If your hitch is 1-1/4", this size will be too large. Measure the inside of your receiver opening to confirm. Also check your hitch pin hole placement to ensure the step can insert fully.
It should not interfere with the backup camera or reverse sensors in most cases. It typically does not stick out far enough to affect them. Since every vehicle is different, confirm by comparing it to how a ball mount shows up on your vehicle. If visibility matters to you, note that you may see the step in the rear view, but it won't block a large part of the view.
