Today we're going to take a look at the LumenX touch activated LED RV dome light with the clear lens. Now this dome light will function as an interior ceiling light on your RV. It is a touch activated light so the light will turn on and off with just a simple press. I didn't center the light, at the end of this video I am going to hook this up to some 12 volt power to show you how that works. Now this is a LumenX optics to create a nice solid panel of light that illuminates the entire lens, and it uses LEDs which make great replacements for incandescent lights, because they'll last 50 times longer, they're more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output, and of course no bulbs to replace, or no brittle filaments to break, and they do give you a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.This light is in a nice, durable white polycarbonate base. The lens is a nice clear lens with 10 white LEDs on it. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems.
To Mount this, they give you multiple mounting options, you can surface mount it with an available mounting bracket we do sell separately on our website, or you can recess mount it with the available ground that is also sold separately. You can see the two wire pigtail includes the red power wire, the white ground wire with the eyelet on it, and those leads are about 12 inches long. This part is made in the USA. Few specs on it. The light output is 400 lumens, operating voltage, nine volts to 32 volts DC. Want to give you some dimensions and then we'll hook it up to some power.
The overall length from one end to the other, six and a half inches long, width on it is two and a quarter inches wide, the height on it, I'm going to give you two measurements, we're going to measure from here to the very top and then just the light itself. From here to here, it's going to be right about one and seven sixteenths inches tall, and just the light is about one inch tall.Again, we're going to hook up, the red wire goes to our power, and the white wire will ground, and with them both hooked up, go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power. Again, it's a touch activation, so right in the center there, you can see just by pushing in the center, the light comes on, and even with our overhead lights on, you can see how bright this is. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, and you can see it gives you a nice solid panel of light, that's the LumenX optics they call it. Then again, if you just push it in the center, oops, missed the center, right in the center it'll go off, and again, push it right in the center, it comes right on.
Go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights, and push it right in the center, got to hit it right in the center, there you go, and it goes off.But that should do it for the review on the LumenX touch activated LED RV dome light with the clear lens.
Great light but would need to manually turn them on each time you kill the main switch in the horse trailer. Will reorder the same light but without the touch switch in the middle of the lens. Bad on me for being a poor electrician.
Have not installed yet. Waiting on other equipment before installing.
