Optronics Clearnance Light Dimensions

P2-Rated or P3-Rated Lights

Diagram of light spread for P2 rated light

A P2-rated or P3-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

The lights are great. The only problem Ive had is there is no built-in backup warning to keep me from backing the trailer into things and breaking the lens. LOL

by:

These lights are really good for the price! (I ordered 16)
They aren't cheap feeling or flimsy.
They feel sturdy, durable and they look quality.
The wires are the correct gauge and the light bulb is in a rubber grommet for weather sealing.
The light is sealed very well and it takes some effort to remove the lens cover.
The lens is thick and the color is true. The reflector is bright.
I was genuinely impressed with lights especially for the cost.
These will be replacing older side marker and clearance lights on my older 1985 Sunstream motor home.
My lights are faded, some broken, mostly leaking and more costly to replace than what they are worth.
These MC32RB and the Amber version lights will look great!
Slightly different style, same size and better looking and better quality than the originals.
Very happy with lights and etrailer.
Will be ordering more items.
Thanks.
G.

Perfect fit and we received them quickl y.

I purchased red and amber lights to replace the faded and broken ones on my travel trailer. Camping World wasn't able to help me. Found you all while searching the internet. Great produce. Great price. Better than the originals. The screws that secure the lights to the trailer are protected from the weather (they are under the removable lens. Easy to install. Ended up replacing all eleven lights.

  • Replacement Amber Lens For A 2019 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite TT
The SAE number is often not a super reliable source of information when it comes to finding a replacement. However, if the lens you're needing for your 2019 Forest River Salem Cruise Lite Travel Trailer measures : 4" long x 2" tall x 1/2" deep, then you can use the: Replacement Amber Lens for Optronics MC32 or MCL32 Series Clearance or Side Marker Trailer Lights # A32AB. • Recommended Type & Size of Installation Hardware for Optronics Side Marker Light MC32AB
The type and length of mounting screw to use to install the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MC32AB will depend largely on the nature of the mounting surface. If there is wood behind the trailer's outer skin at the mounting point then use wood screws long enough to securely grab that material. If the underlying material is metal then use sheet metal screws. If you are using existing holes in the trailer then that may determine the size of fastener you need to use. The...

I pulled one of the Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light, part # MC32AB from our warehouse. You can remove the lens by using a very small screwdriver and prying it. I recommend moving the screwdriver along the seam to make sure you do not break the lens on the light. Once you have the lens off you can order a replacement like part # A32AB. You can just snap the replacement lens back in place. The mounting holes are inside the assembly, so if you need to replace the light assembly...

These lenses measure 4 inches long, 2 inches wide, and 1/2 inch high. The number/letter combo, P2 A 99, that you mention is more than likely the SAE, Society of Automotive Engineers, number. • How to Install Trailer Light part # MC32AB to a Trailer with a Single Power Wire
Sounds like you bought the # MC32AB and the # MC32RB to replace what you have on your trailer. This is the only style of light we offer in that size. It sounds like your trailer may ground it's light assemblies through the mounting hardware. Which in this case would mean that you would only need to run the ground wire of this light to the mounting hardware and the other to the power wire of your trailer's wiring.

  • How to Install an Amber Turn and Parking Light on a Trailer with Combined Brake and Turn Signals
Many people inquire about wiring a trailer in the way you describe, and it is possible, but you will need to use a vehicle to vehicle taillight converter, part # 118158, to accomplish this. The converter will be wired inline on the trailer wiring and will break out the turn and brake circuits. • Does Wiring Polarity Matter for Installing Optronics Clearance or Side Marker Light MC32AB
Yes, the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MC32AB can be wired with either of its two black wires used for ground or for power. Since this is a single-function/single-bulb light it does not matter which is which. For a replacement incandescent bulb for this light you can use part # A194B which is a 194-type standard bulb.

  • Should I Use Adhesive To Keep The Lenses From Falling Off Of the Optronics Clearance Light MC32AB
While you should not have to use adhesive to get the lens to stay on the # MC32AB, you could use a bit of a silicone sealant to keep the lenses stuck on and sealed. That way you could probably peel of the sealant without too much trouble if the lenses need to be replaced. With any stronger adhesive I would be concerned that you would not be able to remove the lens without damaging something.
