Video Transcript for Optronics Replacement Side Marker Light Bulb Installation

Today on our trailer we're going to install, we'll replace this Side Marker light bulb from Optronics. That's Part # A194B. Along with working for Side Marker lights, it also works with LP31, LP41, LP51 and LP81 Series trailer license plate lights. As you see here our marker light on the side of our trailer is a 2-light bulb configuration. The one here on the left is working. The one here on the right is out, so we're going to go ahead and replace that light bulb. We'll just go ahead and pop our cover off and get that out of the way. We'll go ahead and turn our running light circuit off when we pull our bulb and put our new one in. So, we'll go ahead and take our old light bulb, pull it out of the socket, set that aside, bring in our new Optronics light bulb and plug it into the socket. We'll go ahead and take our lens cover, put it back into place and test our new light. As you see, a real quick replacement of that light and you're ready to hit the road. That'll do it for the replacement Side Marker light bulb, Part # A194B.

The lights and lenses that I ordered were exactly what I needed. Jenny could not have been more helpful and professional on the phone. She was even able to expedite my shipment and have it shipped out the same day as I had requested since the trailer we were repairing was headed West. Thank you again for making it so easy to do business. 901545

  • How to Convert Incandescent Trailer Lighting to LED Operation
RV manufacturers do not maintain detailed specs on smaller items such as the lights installed on their motorhome products but we do offer a full range of replacement lenses, complete light assemblies and also LED replacement "bulbs" that allow you to convert the RV to high-efficiency LED lighting without having to change all of the fixtures too. I have linked for you our main pages for trailer light replacement lens parts, complete light fixtures and for the LED replacement elements. The...

  • Incandescent or LED Replacement Boat Trailer Tail Lights
I would go with LEDs but you would have to replace all the lights on the trailer (or at least all the lights on the same circuit would have to be either LED or incandescent). The reason is that LEDs use much less amperage at the same voltage then do incandescents. Many LED tail lights are sealed which makes them ideal for boat trailers. When making the wiring connections you would want them to be watertight so shrink tubing would be great. I have included a link to our LED tail...

  • Available Styles of Type 194 Light Bulb
A 194 type bulb is used in many applications. In certain cases, let's say in use inside an amber-lens trailer clearance light, you might want to use the yellow Putco Mini-Halogen Bulbs # P211194Y instead of a standard clear incandescent filament bulb # A194B. Or for the brightest light output with maximum power efficiency you could use an amber/yellow LED 194 type, such as 2-pack # ARC78FR. Type 194 light bulbs, whether incandescent or halogen or LED, will fit interchangeably in many...

I cannot be for certain but it looks like you have a standard 194 type bulb in which case yes, it would just pull straight out but may take a bit of wiggling if there is any corrosion holding it in place. In order to then replace the bulb we have part # A194B for incandescent or part # DG52610WVP for LED if it is in fact a 194. If it is not then please let me know what bulb type it is. You can also replace the entire fixture rather easily with the Optronics LED RV Interior Double Dome Light...

The Back of the Mini Trailer License Plate Light, part number LP31CB, is removable. the metal plate that holds the bulb socket is pressed into the back of the outer housing and can be removed with a small screwdriver by inserting it between the housing and the backing plate and gently prying it out. Once you get the light apart the bulb is just pulled straight out of the socket and the new one pressed in.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Lighting Where Only One Running Light Works
Since all of your trailer lights operate properly with the exception of one of the running lights, this tells us that the vehicle wiring harness is probably working properly. I would first carefully check the bad light's ground and power wires to ensure that both are secured.
