Upgrading from old incandescent lights makes a big difference in both brightness and reliability. This LED clearance or side marker light uses two amber LEDs that shine clean and bright while drawing only 0.05 amps at 12V. The LEDs last up to 50 times longer than standard bulbs, so you won’t be swapping them out any time soon. There are no filaments to break, just solid performance and efficiency every time you power it on.
Keeping your trailer visible doesn’t have to mean adding more hardware. This light’s built-in reflex reflector eliminates the need for a separate reflector, giving you fewer parts to install while still meeting DOT and SAE requirements. The amber lens with integrated reflector keeps everything compact and neat on the trailer surface while maintaining visibility from all the right angles.
Installing this light is simple thanks to its surface-mount design. At 3-3/4" long by 1-3/4" wide and 15/16" deep, it sits flat against the trailer wall using a flange or bracket—no large holes or special fittings required. The distance between the mounting holes is exactly 3". Wiring is straightforward too with a 2-wire pigtail: one lead for power and one for ground. With 20-gauge wire extending 4-1/2", it’s easy to connect and tuck away cleanly.
Rough roads, dust, or moisture can wear out cheap lights, but this one’s made to last. The durable polycarbonate base and acrylic lens stand up to regular use and resist cracking and fading over time. It’s a small, solid piece that installs once and just works—no need to worry about replacing broken housings or fragile parts down the road.
When it comes to clearance or side marker lighting, beam direction matters. This P2-rated light throws a 90-degree beam—45 degrees to each side of centerline—so it’s easily seen straight on where it counts most. Whether you’re using it as a clearance light or a side marker, it gives you the right visibility for safer travel day or night.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a LED clearance or side marker light with a built in reflex reflector. This small rectangular trailer light functions as both a clearance light and a side marker light when properly mounted. It's an LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments.
This unit features an amber lens, again, with the reflex reflector built it. It mounts directly on the surface of the trailer. Mounting hardware's not included. To gain access to the mount holes, you just need to remove the lens. You can do that by placing a flat blade screwdriver direction in here on either side, there's a little spot for it, and then just prying the lens off.On the back, you can see it's a two wire pig-tail, so we have our power wire and our ground wire.
White is for ground, yellow is for power. This is SAE approved, and it is a P2 rated unit. Taking a look at the overall dimensions, starting with the overall length, edge to edge measures three and 7/8 inches. Edge to edge going this direction, is one and 7/8. And the overall depth from the front of the lens to the back of the housing right here, you get a measurement of about 13/16 of an inch deep.The mount holes on the unit are separated on center by three inches.
We're gonna go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. And we'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights, so you can see it in a low-light setting. So here you can see the light sends out a nice consistent signal. You can really see that reflex reflector that's built into the lens. When it comes to the number of LEDs, that's a two-diode system or a two-LED system, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output.And that's gonna do it for today's look at the LED amber clearance or side marker light with the built in reflex reflector..
