  • Lookiing To Upgrade Axles On 2015 Keystone Cougar 33RBK
Hello Rene, thanks for reaching out. It is pretty typical for RV manufacturers to use axles that are not rated for the full GVWR. They say this is because 10%-15% of the camper weight is on the hitch instead of the axles. They will put the bare minimum axle on there to save on costs. Very typical in the RV industry these days sadly. It is possible to use a higher rated axle. For the 86-1/2" axles we have a 6,000 lb option. We offer it fully loaded with brakes and 6-lug hubs as part #...

  • Replacement Axle for a 4,400 lbs AL-KO Axle
Hey Shane! The closest axle we have to those dimensions is the Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes item # e73SR. It has a 86-1/2" hub face and a spring-center-to-spring-center length of 71-1/2". You may be able to get away with the hub face being slightly longer depending on your fenders but you'll need to use the Spring Seat item # TRSS300 to replace the ones that come with the axle.

  • Correct Bearing Kit for a Curt 5,100 lbs Axle
Thanks for the information and picture James! Your Curt 5,100 lbs capacity axle uses item # 25580 inner bearings and item # LM67048 outer bearings. So you would need the Bearing Kit item # BK3-300, which includes both bearings, along with both races, a grease seal and cotter pin. You'll need one kit per hub. As far as a replacement axle goes you wouldn't be able to upgrade to a 6,000 lbs axle and keep the same hubs. The 5,200 lbs Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles item #...

  • Replacement Options for 85" Lippert 4,400 lb Axle
Hi John; what you have there is a Lippert 4,400 lb axle that is 85" long with a 68-1/2" spring center measurement. 4,400 lb axles are obsolete so you're looking at upgrading to a 5,200 lb axle. The closest thing we have is the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles - 86-1/2" Long # e45GR. This would stick out an additional 3/4" on either side of the trailer which wouldn't be too much if you don't mind the tires sticking out a little further. You will also need to cut off the spring...

  • Replacement Axles for D44 Axle With 86-1/2" Hub Face Measurement
The Dexter Trailer Axle # 8327816-EB would be your best replacement option. This includes the hub/drum and brake assemblies so you won't have to piece that together separately. It matches your 86-1/2" hub face measurement but the spring center is a little off. You will need to cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS300 to match your 68-1/2" measurement. You will also need the U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles # APUBR-8.

  • Can Trailer Axle Spring Seats be Relocated If Needed
You can weld on new spring seats on your axle without compromising the integrity. So if you went with the part # 8327826 you could install the new seats with part # TRSS300 which would be easier than moving the brackets on the trailer frame. The extra width of the wheels being pushed out would not be an issue either. Going to a spring with more leaves would not be an issue either. We have the part # e94SR which is a 6 leaf 6k axle spring that is 26 inches long as well.

  • Over-Under Conversion Kit for 7k Axle With Slipper Springs
Hi Brian; we do not have a kit that will work as is but the # K71-385-00 will do what you need with some extra steps. The spring seats will need to be fully welded to the axle since the slipper springs shift back and forth. You will also need to replace the U-bolts since they're only 7" long. I would not replace them using your existing U-bolts so you will need to find new ones. Unfortunately, we don't have any that are 9" long. Also, the U-bolt plate is designed for 1-3/4" wide double...

  • Upgrading Axle Capacity on 5th Wheel With 3,500 lb Axles
Hi David; a trailer wouldn't be designed where it exceeds the axle capacity without even being loaded. The axles will always be able to handle the GVWR of the trailer. You might not be factoring in the pin weight, which is weight that won't be sitting on the axles. The same is true for tongue weight on bumper pull trailers. You can still upgrade the axles if you want, but it won't actually increase the capacity of the trailer. Even if you swap out the axles, leaf springs, and hubs you...

  • Option For Replacing 3,500 lb Axle Part Number AADULE359582
Thanks for getting in touch, Stanley. The part number AADULE359582 you provided indicates a 3,500 lb axle with a 95" hub face and 82" spring center. We offer a 5,200 lb replacement for this, the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles - 95" Long - 5,200 lbs # e63GR. This axle has spring seats pre-welded at 80", so they will need to be removed and have new spring seats # TRSS300 welded on at 82". This axle tube is 3" in diameter so you will need new U-bolts such as part # CE23003....

  • Is There an Over-Under Kit for a 2-3/4" Diameter Mobile Home Axle?
Unfortunately Hans, we do not have an over under kit specific to mobile home axles as they were designed to be used to get the mobile home to where it needs to be and thrown away after they were done. Several people saw these as a cheap opportunity to get an axle and make home made trailers. But none of the trailer manufacturers provide support parts for them. You're only real option would be to weld on some new spring seats but again as it is an uncommon diameter tube we do not have an...

  • Do You Have a 6,000 lbs Axle w/ a 89" Hub Face?
Hey Val. Our Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles item # e23GR is going to be the best option for a 6,000 lbs capacity axle that's 89" long. We don't have any axles with a 68.5" spring seat so you'll need to have a welder install two of the Spring Seats item # TRSS300 per axle to attach the axle to your suspension. The spindles fit item # 25580 inner and item # 15123 outer bearings. You'll also need a set of the U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles...

  • Replacement Axle Beam for 2020 Grand Design Reflection 315RLTS
Hi Gina; from what I was able to find that is an 86-1/2" long 5,200 lb axle. For a replacement you can use the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 8327816. However, this axle has a spring center measurement of 71-1/2" and it looks like yours is 68-1/2". You can verify this by looking at the axle tag, the measurement will look like "SC=68.50." Assuming that is correct, you will have to cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS300 to match your current measurement. What...

  • 86-1/2 Inch Long Axle Option For Grand Design Trailer
Hi there Andy; thanks for that info, and while we don't have 3,500 lb axles that are 86-1/2 inches long, we do have a 5,200 lb option with the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam # 8327816. The spring center you mention is an odd one, as the # 8327816 has 71-1/2" spring centers. What you can do if you like is have new spring seats welded on at the appropriate 68-1/2" distance. For that you'd need a pair of Spring Seat # TRSS300.

  • Determining Correct Axle Upgrade For 2018 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer
I would be happy to make a recommendation for upgraded axles and suspension components for your 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK, but first I will need a few measurements from your current components. Starting with the axle you will need to measure your current axles from hub face to hub face and from spring center to spring center to determine the correct length the replacement axle would need to be. For example the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 89" Long - 5,200 lbs...

  • Replacement Axle for 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2150RB
Grand Design lists an 86-1/2" 3,500 lb axle for your Imagine 2150RB. The next size up would be a 5,200 lb axle like the # e45GR. This has the same 86-1/2" hub face measurement but the spring seat is different. You will need to cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS300 to match your current 68-1/2" measurement. The CE Smith U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5.2K to 7K, Round Trailer Axles # CE23003 will be required as well. For a hub and drum assembly you can use the # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K. These...

Hey Dave, thanks for the information. The closest axle I have to yours is the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles item # e45GR. It has a slightly longer hub face at 86-1/2". The spring-center-to-spring-center length is 71-1/2" but these can easily be moved using a couple of the Spring Seat for Round Trailer Axles with 3" Diameter item # TRSS300. It's the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles item # e45GR. This is a 86-1/2" long axle with a 5,200 lbs capacity. You'll be able to use two of the Spring Seat for Typical 5,200-lb to 7,200-lb, Round Trailer Axles with 3" Diameter item # TRSS300 to move the mounting points on this axle to where they need to be at 68-1/2" to line up with...

  • Replacement 5,200 lb Axle With 86-1/2" Hub Face Measurement
Hi John; we don't have an axle that is an exact match but you can still use the # 8327816. Since the length is correct you can make the rest of it work with new spring seats. This axle has a spring seat measurement of 71-1/2" so you would have been moving them to match your 68-1/2" measurement regardless of the bottom/top mounting position. All you need to do is add new spring seats to the top matching your current spring center length using # TRSS300. Since you're moving up in size...

Since your spring center measurement is different you will have to cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS300 to match your measurement. You will need to remove and move the spring seats and replace them with the item # TRSS300. None of our axles have spring seats at the 68-1/2" location like yours currently do. • Can Spring Seats Be Moved From 74" to 76" On A 89" Hub Face Axle e65SR?
Hello Rob, thanks for getting in touch. There is not going to be enough room on the 89" hub face axle # e65SR to move the spring seats out to 76". That would have the spring seat literally right up against the backing plate and there would be no room for hardware, so this would not work. You can see in the picture below, the spring seats are about 2" wide, so moving that center any farther outboard will be way too tight. You would have to go with a longer axle, and the next size up we...

  • Solution for Needing Replacement 5,200 lb Trailer Axle that is 89 inches Long Overall
Hey Jason, yes the etrailer axle part # e75SR is pretty close to what you need but it does have the spring seats incorrectly placed based on what you need. But if you don't mind moving them you could have them rewelded at the distance your trailer requires. Or if it was me I would probably just leave them on there and weld on new ones where they belong like with part # TRSS300.

This is a very common occurrence and we do have the # TRSS300 spring seats that are needed to get it fixed (which you will need two of). You will just need to weld them on (or have them welded on) in the appropriate spot and you are good to go. Unfortunately, this is not something...
