Question:
RE: RV axle upgrade - Hi eTrailer, I have a 2019 XLR Boost and want to upgrade the axles, due to tire wear issues. I have a RZR and towed it last summer, long distances and the tires showed signs of wear on a few of the edges. I assume this is because the axels that are installed are not quite strong enough to support the weight of the RZR? I am not trying to go over the GVW, but just be able to tow a little heavier weight without ruining my tires. I currently have 2ea. 3500lbs Lippert 86.5 - 68.5 axels. I would like to upgrade to 5000lbs to 6000lbs axles. is this something you could help me out with? Is there anything else I should be looking at to save my tires besides upgrading the axels? thanks

Hey Gary! You can upgrade your axles and hubs using the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes -item # 8327816-EB you were looking at. This axle has a 5,200 lbs capacity. You will need to remove and move the spring seats and replace them with the item # TRSS300. None of our axles have spring seats at the 68-1/2" location like yours currently do. These are sold individually so you'll need four.
Additionally, you'll need two sets of the U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles item # APUBR-8.
It also wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade your suspension while you've got everything taken apart and your trailer jacked up. If you could get the weight off of one side of your trailer and measure one of the left springs from the center of one eye bolt to the center of the other I would be happy to find you the correct leaf springs.
You can leave this information and any other questions you have in the comment box below and I'll be happy to answer them.
