  • How to Find if Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit Will Fit on Trailer
The equalizers that come with the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit # K71-448-00 have bolt holes that measure 6" apart on center and then 4" tall on center as you can see in the attached photo. You'll want to measure your current equalizers to see if they have similar dimensions or not. If they do then this is the kit for you. If they don't then just let me know what your measurements are and I can help you choose the correct replacement suspension kit from the linked selection.

  • What is Advantage of Never Fail Tandem Axle Suspension Upgrade Hardware Kit Over Other Options
The Never Fail upgrade kits like the # LC281285 have two really distinct advantages. One of them is what you mentioned and is that they don't require greasing or any maintenance. The other is that they last about twice as long as any other heavy duty style of bushing kit. You'll get easily twice the mileage from this kit over anything else.

  • How To Measure Wet Bolts And Suspension Components On Tandem Axle RV
Hello John, thanks for reaching out. For the wet bolts you can measure the overall length or the length not including the head. Honestly when replacing this stuff, the bolts are going to be a standard length and diameter. Typically I would not even need you to measure them when replacing your suspension. As long as you get the shackle and equalizer size right, you can be sure the wet bolts that come with the kit will fit. What you will need to measure are the shackle links and the equalizer....

  • Replacement Suspension Components for Anvil 8.5 ft by 20 ft Trailer
Hey Shaun, we have the exact replacement for your equalizer with the # TREQ104. But for shackle straps we only have 2-5/8 inch shackles in a non-hd configuration like the part # 115052. So what I would go with instead is the Dexter HD equalizer kit part # K71-359-00 which comes with everything you are looking for but the HD shackles are a little shorter at 2-1/4 inches. This would not cause any problems though since a slightly shorter shackle strap just ever so slightly changes the suspension...

Hey Keith thanks for all the information! The best suspension kit for your 2004 Continental A2150-5000 trailer is going to be the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit item # K71-653-00. This kit has upgraded equalizers with rubber cores that absorb road shock, which give you a smoother ride. The shackle straps are slightly shorter at 3/8" which will not affect your suspension. They have wet bolts with built-in grease zerks that makes maintenance extremely easy. I have linked an installation...

  • What Would be Trailer Suspension Height Difference Between Equalizers K71-359-00 and K71-448-00
Hey Eron, the equalizer part # K71-448-00 is 2 inches taller than the # K71-359-00 but since this only changes the height of half the leaf spring you'd end up only gaining 1 inch.

  • Can 2" Shackle Straps Be Switched With 2-1/4" Shackle Straps
Hey David! If I had to guess your utility trailer originally had 2-1/4" on there since that is the standard. One way or another, that slight difference isn't enough to cause an issue with the suspension geometry. If you want to use the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers # K71-359-00 you can. However, you need to make sure your current equalizers match the 5-3/4" length of the Dexter from the kit. If you don't want to swap out the equalizer, or find yours is a different...

Most importantly the distance from left to right on the bolt holes of the equalizer as well as the length of the shackles from bolt hole center to bolt hole center. • Recommended Upgraded Equalizers For A 2021 Grand Design Transcend Xplor Travel Trailer
Hey James, If you have standard equalizers with a 5-3/4" horizontal and 2" vertical measurement then the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00 would be the correct replacement for you. If you're saying that you already have those and are wanting something else then you can go with the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279687. • Looking For Equalizer and Shackles For Nitro Boat Trailer
Hey Craig, thanks for reaching out. The axle spacing is actually not a reliable way to determine what equalizer and shackles you will need. The best way to know exactly what you will need is to measure the current equalizer and shackle links. There are other factors that go into the equalizer sizing aside from the axle spacing. For the equalizer you will want to measure the length and height. Take a look at the picture I included for an example of how to measure. Also measure the shackle...

  • Does Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Kit # K71-359-00 Fit 2018 Keystone Cougar 26RBS
Hey Martin, thanks for all the specs on your Keystone suspension! Based on that I can confirm that the Dexter suspension upgrade kit part # K71-359-00 that you referenced does fit. The big determining factor was the width of your current equalizers which this does match at 5-3/4 inches.

That said, there is no way to look up your trailer to know exactly what parts you will need. RV manufacturers just are not that specific with their online literature. • Upgrading Trailer Axle Capacity - Do I Need To Replace Both Axles?
Hello John, thanks for reaching out. If you will be upgrading your axle capacity, yes, you will need to replace both axles. Both axles must be equal. It is pretty common for RV manufacturers to use axle that are underrated for the GVWR. They do this to cut costs, and because the axle technically don't bear the full weight of the camper. About 10%-15% of the trailer weight is on the hitch or the jack. If you are wanting to look at new axles, I will need to know the hub face (HF) length...
