Question:
I have a 2003 Dorsey boat trailer with tandem axle and leaf springs. The carrying capacity is 5600 lbs GAWR ALL 7100 lbs. I have a Baja Boss 245 on the trailer. I am looking for new Leaf spring equalizers and shackle kit. Do you know what size equalizers that I would need? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello William, thanks for reaching out. We do carry leaf springs and shackle kits so we may have what you need. That said, there is no way to look up your trailer to know exactly what parts you will need. RV manufacturers just are not that specific with their online literature.
For the leaf springs, I will need to know the weight capacity of each axle. This info should be on the axle tag or sticker if present. Based on the GVWR you may have two 3,500 lb axles, but please confirm. I will also need to know the eye-to-eye length of the current springs. You will want to jack up one side of the trailer so you can measure the springs while unloaded.
While you are at it, also measure your shackle links. Those are measured from center hole to center hole. Also measure your equalizer length and height. I have included a picture that shows how to measure an equalizer. Basically, I will need the dimensions in red and blue.
Let me know what you come up with and I am happy to look into it and see what we can do.
