Specially designed for heavy-duty towing, this fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Direct bolt on. Make sure to keep hardware from old hitch if doing replacement like myself this utilizes 2 bolts from factory. Very easy install. Definitely a nice upgrade from my rusted into pieces factory hitch. Could tel right away it was good xonstruction weighs about twice as much as factory hitch. We'll see how she pulls soon.
Does not fit exact on 2004 chevy Silverado 2500hd crew cad. Drilling required. Maybe other trucks for whatever reason it fits but mine does not. Hitch itself looks great
This hitch is beefy and nice, love the looks and will be a big upgrade from my factory one that was starting to rip at the welds.
Awesome hitch! Makes the oem look like a plastic toy. Easy install, I can't think of anything negative about this product. Will out last the truck it's bolted to!
Arrived 3 days free shipping....
Installation a snap although we have a lift !
Appreciate the bolt stays so it can be installed by just tightening but on underside no wrench on top needed !
Used on a 2005 Silverado 2500 with 6.6 Dura
Also included pic of original equipment ....broke 15 years later and much WORK
Nicely made. Factory one was whimpy and weak looking. I pull a 10k trailer everywhere. Hitch safety chain hookup is large enough to get my oversized hooks in. Over all I'm happy with it.
Fasteners too short!
First, I removed the original bumper and receiver hitch. Then i installed an ETrailer supplied OEM rear bumper with supplied fasteners. Then I proceeded to install the Curt trailer hitch receiver. To install the receiver, the rearmost fasteners of the bumper had to be removed, the receiver located for installation and then those same fasteners re-installed to secure both the bumper and receiver in place. Wouldn’t you know that the rearmost fasteners for the bumper (fasteners that had to be removed for receiver installation) were TOO SHORT to engage the fixed nut on the truck frame with both receiver and bumper installed. Fortunately I had saved the original rearmost fasteners and THOSE were just long enough to engage the fixed nuts’ threads. By rights I should buy similar nuts that are 1/2 inch longer to have adequate thread engagement. Just an unanticipated p.i.t.a.
Other than that, it fit up nicely.
The hitch was an excellent fit. The only drawback is that there’s not a spot to mount the trailer plug I see where other people have welded something on it would just be nice if it had it. I plan on buying a bracket and mounting it to my bumper. It took about 30 minutes to install once I had all the tools together. Looks great
The process was painless and shipping was quick. Product was exactly as described. Fit was correct, had to modify exhaust hanger as this beefier hitch rubbed the exhaust pipe.
Just installed the hitch last night, very easy install everything lined up perfectly from where the factory hitch was removed. Appears to be a excellent quality/build, I have not used the hitch yet so cannot speak to that yet. Only complaint I have is it does not have the electrical connector bracket, but in their defense I didn't see any on the competitive brand either.
Etrailer is top notch excellent service extremely fast shipping!!!
My Curt trailer hitch works great, no sagging with a heavy load on the farm. Installation was pretty good with a tight fit on the frame. Much heavier than the OEM hitch.
Had the hitch receiver for a year now! Very happy, it works as expected and has held up really well with the use and weather. Etrailer answered my questions and shipped it right away. Great experience
It fit so nice on my 2004 duramax. I also did the newer style bumper with the steps and it worked perfectly.
Perfect fit for my 2005 2500 Silverado. The factory receiver only had 7500# capacity so I figured an upgrade to a class V was a good idea. I cut the plug bracket off of the old receiver and welded it to a piece of flat stock for easy mounting to the bumper.
Great product! It bolted right on to my 2001 2500 HD just like it said it would. Fast and free shipping. Can't beat it. Good quality hitch. It makes the rusted out OEM hitch look like a child's toy. Worth the money.
No comparison to the stock hitch. Very sturdy with no flex. One less worry when towing a heavy trailer. A true bolt on hitch. Great price and fast shipping. Thanks etrailer.
The hitch is great except one issue. The holes for the safety chains are made for hooks larger than normal for travel trailers and personal boats. Finding something to adapt between the two has been a challenge. What I found isn't pretty but it is functional.
Great product. Fast shipping. Claimed custom fit, but the holes lined up perfectly for direct fit. Being class 5 easier to install with two(2) people. Only problem, there was no connection plate on the receiver for the light and brake control plug.
I had a class V hitch which I had to use a reducer to tow my camper, I found a class III to fit my truck with the help of Kyle. I received my hitch in 5 days which was grest in these times we are in. Already installed, all hardware and instruction were included.
I will recommend and do bussiness again.
My truck is a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD
I purchased this product after removing my factory one that had a reciever seized into it. This hitch went on perfect and looks excellent! I'm very impressed! I also purchased the 7way and 4pin adapter as well and installed super quick and easily as well! Thank you much!!
Hitch installed in 20 minutes with air tools and a torque wrench. Looks great on the truck and is much stronger than the OEM hitch. Shipping was fast. Thank you Etrailer.
I bought this hitch as a replacement for my OEM and I’m very pleased. Its way more heavy duty then OEM. Easy to install and comes with instructions although it’s easy enough you don’t need them. The fitment is great and I love the look. Sits more flush then OEM. I also bought a 4 and 7 pin break adapter to pair this with and it looks great.
Haven't had any issues with my Receiver Hitch in a years worth of use. Nice quality and price.
Just put hitch on. Took longer to get tools out than to put on. Looks great and built strong, and that's coming from a welder/ fabricator/ carpenter. Bolted right up to my 2005 GMC 2500 hd crew cab. Can't wait to put dump trailer or my enclosed trailer to it. Will be testing it in a couple of weeks when I move daughter to O U for grad school
Direct Fit. Easy install less than 30 minutes. Will need to plan to relocate factory 7 way plug to another location. I used a Hopkins plug and drilled a hole in bumper beside the license plate.
