Why Doesn't Curt Hitch C15302 Attach to Silverado Bumper

Question:
I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500. My factory hitch not only attached to the truck frame but also to the bumper. Why is it that this hitch only gets attached to the frame?

Hey Mark, so the Curt hitch part # C15302 basically is strong enough without attaching to the bumper so it wasn't designed into it. Curt is very thorough with their hitch designs so I would not worry about this hitch not having the needed capacity.
