Does The Curt Receiver C15302 Not Require The Bumper Mount Bolts on a 2009 Silverado 2500HD?
Published 09/21/2022 >
Question:
2009 chevy Silverado 2500HD, 6.0 gas, LT extended cab, 4x4, short bed, trailer tow package. My current factory installed hitch receiver has two bolts securing it to the bumper just above the receiver. This model does not have that, is that ok.

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15302 does not have the bolt holes that also secure it to the bumper on your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with the short bed. This is fine as the construction for this receiver is much stronger than that on your factory receiver. And it is designed to work on trucks that both came with a factory receiver as well as ones without a factory receiver.
