This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver brings serious towing muscle to your setup. With a 10,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 1,000-lb maximum tongue weight, you’ve got the capacity for heavier trailers and gear. Add a weight distribution system and those numbers jump to 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver opening gives you the versatility to use common towing accessories like ball mounts, cargo carriers, or bike racks built for the same class rating.
The square-tube design is fully welded for maximum strength and rigidity. A gloss black powder coat finish sits on top of a protective base coat, keeping rust at bay and the hitch looking clean after years of use. You can rely on it to handle weather, road grime, and heavy hauling without flaking or corrosion eating through the finish.
This hitch bolts directly onto the frame using included hardware—no welding needed. It’s built as a custom fit for precise alignment with factory mounting points, so you won’t waste time trying to make it work. The kit comes with complete installation instructions to help you get it done with basic tools in your driveway.
Whether you're pulling a utility trailer, towing a boat, or using a cargo platform for extra gear, this Class IV receiver is made to handle frequent use. It’s sturdy enough for work applications but just as practical for recreational towing when the weekend rolls around. And since the ball mount, pin, and clip are sold separately, you can choose the accessories that best match your setup.

Our tech tip in the fitguide shows that on your 06 Chevy 2500 HD with a 6.5 Foot Bed, two holes will need to be drilled and some fascia trimmed. No drilling is required on the 8 foot bed.

I now can use the hitch. I had to ream out the pin hole it was not drilled straight. Remember the first hitch was twisted so it was unable to install it
