This Curt Class II hitch opens up practical towing options for small trailers, campers, and boats. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight of 350 lbs, it’s built for reliable light to moderate towing. The 1-1/4" receiver is perfect for hauling a small trailer to the lake or pulling a utility trailer on the weekend without overloading your vehicle.
When you’re heading out for a ride or need extra storage space, this hitch is ready for it. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" opening accepts most Class II bike racks and cargo carriers, giving you flexibility for all kinds of gear. Whether it’s a couple of e-bikes or a loaded cargo tray for a road trip, the solid receiver connection keeps everything steady on the road.
Installing this hitch doesn’t require a lift or special tools. It’s designed as a custom fit with precision robotic welding to line up with existing mounting points on your vehicle. The bolt-on setup means no welding is needed, and the complete hardware kit and instructions are included so you can get it mounted in an afternoon using basic tools.
The fully welded steel construction is finished with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat for long-term rust resistance. This sturdy square-tube design not only adds strength but also stands up well to road grime and weather. Once installed, you’ll have a durable hitch that’s ready for years of towing, hauling, and weekend adventures.

A year later its still working and looking great. I ended up using a straight locking pin instead of the typical slightly curved one because the chain hooks on my trailer are pretty beefy and I needed the room. I mostly use it to haul things around for people locally but am hoping to get a bike rack later this year so we can ride in the local park.

Ive now had the trailer hitch for my 2001 Volvo V70XC for a year. Last January I towed a trailer from New England to Florida and then back in April. For both trips the trailer hitch and wiring worked perfectly. I am now purchasing my third trailer hitch from etrailer for a BMW X5.

It sounds like your trailer hitch mounting brackets have flexed a little bit. The mounting brackets are made from a mild steel that allows the hitch to flex with the vehicle after installation. This flex can also occur in shipping and warehousing. I have linked an article with some easy ways to correct this flex so you can get your hitch installed.

After one year this hitch has gotten less use than Id planned for, but now that Ive found a bike rack that works well with it and have the right setup it seems perfect.

After one year, Id still give this hitch 5 stars. I use the hitch at least 3 times a week. I actually havent thought about it much at all until etrailer was nice enough to follow up after one year thanks for that. Not having to think about the hitch is probably the best compliment I can give :-

I found it necessary to use a 10 drive extension on the ratchet drive in order to clear the chassis with the drive handle.
