Question:
Hi I will be towing a 12 foot 10 inch aluminum boat that weighs 158 pounds plus added 5 Hp 4 stroke engine. What is better Curtis C12318 or Draw tite hitch and best receiver and Ball. Thank You,

Expert Reply:
The Curt hitch for your 2006 Volvo XC70 # C12318 is what i would recommend for you as it has the higher weight capacities and is made in the USA. Then for trailer wiring the part # C56236 will be your best option.
With Class I hitches like this you have to use the required ball mount that the manufacturer specifies. So for the Curt hitch you'd need the # C45016 which has a 2-5/8 inch rise or 3-1/4 inch drop. If your trailer needs a 2 inch hitch ball you'd want the part # A-82 or for a 1-7/8 inch ball we have part # A-80.
