Recommended Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer With a 2003 Volvo S60

Question:

I am looking for all the parts that would be required to tow a trailer with a 2003 Volvo V60. Wiring harness and it says it needs an upgrade to tow the 4000 pounds. thank you

Lawrence, for what is offered for your 2003 Volvo S60 (V60 doesn't exist from what I can find) you are not going to be able to tow a 4,000 lb trailer without a weight distribution system, but all of the hitches do not allow for a WDS.

You can tow up to a 3,500 lb trailer however, and to do so will need the trailer hitch # C12318, wiring harnesses # C59236 & # ETBC7, and a brake controller # 90195.

@LawrenceM Gotcha thanks for clearing that up. That does change things, unfortunately. The hitch for your vehicle # SH47FR has a towing kit SH56FR which does include that wiring harness and ball for towing - but has been discontinued via the manufacturer. At the moment this is the only hitch we carry for this vehicle so there isn't going to be another option available, unfortunately.
