Question:
Hitch height 13. Coupler height 22 3/4. Installed Curt class ll - 1 1/4. What is the highest ball mount available. Will I be safe using the highest rise ball mount available? Have a old fishing boat on trailer. Approximately 1000 lbs.

Expert Reply:
The Class II ball mount we offer with the tallest rise is the Curt # C45028. This ball mount has a rise of 5-3/8 inches. This gives you a height of 18-3/8 inches, still short of your 22-3/4 inch coupler height. Even if you used a hitch ball similar to the Curt # C40034 with a 2 inch rise, you would still be a couple of inches shy of your coupler height.
Ideally, you want to tow level to avoid sway and traction issues, but this is as close as you may be able to get to towing your boat trailer level.
