Can you give a recommendation for trailer hitch, ball mount and wiring for 2005 Volvo XC70?

The hitch I recommend for your 2005 Volvo XC70 is the Curt part # C12318 that you referenced. This has the highest capacity of all of the hitches we offer for your vehicle and will install easily too.

For trailer wiring the # C59496 is what I recommend as it has the most reliable converter box. For a ball mount you'd then want the part # C45016, pin and clip part # F-4, 2 inch ball part # 19258, or 1-7/8 # 19256.
