Your propane pigtail has a 1/4" male inverted flare, but your regulator has a 1/4" female NPT inlet. These adapters convert the regulator inlets to female inverted flare so you can connect the pigtails.
Replacing a propane regulator can leave you with pigtails that don't match the new regulator's inlets.
