Question:
I need to replace the axles on my boat trailer. I measured center to center on the tires and have a measurement of 89 inches. The spring centers are 70. Its a square tube axles with a small drop. Basically the spindles are mounted on the top of the axle. I cant seem to find a suitable replacement. Any suggestions?

The best option we can offer you is the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam part # 8327812 which has a 3,500 lb capacity and E-Z Lube feature. This axle has the same hub face length of 89" and drop of 4" that you were looking for. The spring center is set at 74" yes but you can move these inward to match your 70" spring center no problem. In regards to shape, square vs round this will also not be an issue. The u-bolts would be different yes but you would need to replace these when removed from the axle anyway. I recommend the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit part # CE23002.
Please note the axle you have now is not very common which might be why you are having a hard time finding an exact replica but the above option will work for you. If you don't already have a 3,500 lb axle then most likely you will need new hubs as well, the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # 84545UC1-EZ.
