Snow Chains or Cables Recommendation for a 2011 Ford Escape AWD with 235/70-16 Tires

I have a 2011 Ford Escape AWD. I know I dont need chains in most conditions but CA law says I need to have some on me, just in case. Is PW2029C what I need?

The Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, # PW2029C, would be a good choice for occaisional use when conditions require the use of snow chains, as long as your Escape has the original tire size 235/70-16 on it. Along with these chains it would be a good idea to use the Glacier Rubber Adjusters, # PW100, to keep the chains tight on the tires.

If you think you will be using the chains a bit more than you indicated, or the conditions might require a better bite than cable chains, I recommend the Thule XB-16 Snow Chains, # TH01571247, for your Escape with 235/70-16 tires. These chains are easier to install, see video, and have integrated rubber tensioners that allow you to fit the chains on the tires. The links on these chains are more aggressive than the cable chains, allowing for better traction in icy conditions.
