When you’re hauling serious weight, you need a tire that’s proven to handle it safely. The Kenda Loadstar ST215/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire packs a 6-ply rating with a maximum load of 1,870 lbs at 50 psi. It’s built specifically as a Special Trailer (ST) tire and tested to exceed Department of Transportation standards, so you can count on dependable performance mile after mile.
This tire uses bias-ply construction with nylon cords laid at a 30-45° angle in alternating layers. That crisscross pattern gives the sidewalls extra stiffness so the whole tire flexes evenly. The result is a smoother ride, improved handling, and stability when the road isn’t perfect—ideal for conditions where traction and steady tracking matter most.
The Loadstar’s flatter tread design helps it stay planted and stable under load, while its advanced rubber compound is engineered for long tread wear and low rolling resistance. That means less heat buildup and a smoother ride, even on extended trips where consistency counts.
Unexpected damage happens—but with Kenda’s 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee, this tire will be replaced at no charge if it’s damaged within the first 12 months. It’s backed by a full 5-Year limited warranty too, giving you extra peace of mind every time you pull out on the road.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Trailer tires do not have to be balanced like passenger car tires do since a trailer tires primary duty is supporting a vertical load. You certainly can have your trailer tires fully balanced if you wish, but this is not essential.
