Features to know about

Built for Real Workloads: Load Range D with 1,165-lb Capacity at 70 psi

When you need a tire that can handle serious weight, this one delivers. The Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire packs an 8-ply Load Range D rating and supports up to 1,165 lbs at 70 psi. It’s been rigorously tested to exceed Department of Transportation standards, so it’s tough enough for consistent, heavy towing without giving up reliability or peace of mind.

Steady Control on Rough Ground: Bias-Ply Stability with Crisscross Construction

This tire’s bias design uses thick nylon cords set at a 30 to 45-degree angle in alternating layers. That crisscross build gives the sidewalls extra stiffness so the whole tire flexes evenly across uneven ground. The result is better stability and smoother handling when you’re rolling over bumps, gravel, or soft surfaces.

Ready to Handle Heat and Highway Miles: 65-mph Speed Rating

Long runs in hot weather are no problem here. Rated for speeds up to 65 mph, this tire keeps its cool under load without sacrificing durability. The combination of low rolling resistance and balanced construction helps it track straight and smooth mile after mile.

Confidence That Lasts: Backed by a 5-Year Limited Warranty and 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

You get real backup behind the performance. The Loadstar K399 comes with a 5-year limited warranty plus a 1-year worry-free guarantee—if the tire is damaged within the first year, it’s replaced at no charge. That kind of coverage shows how much trust the manufacturer puts in its build quality.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Look very good. Thinking of ordering same mounted for another trailer. Thanks

After 1year, these show very little wear. They track well, and take abuse associated with OHV and snowmobile towing. The D load rating gives me some peace of mind when pushing trailer load limits, and are quiet to boot.

I bought these tires to mount on hubs i had bought from etrailer and they were high quality and fit the hubs perfectly. The company site made it easy to order with its info
on a recommended match between the hub and tire. Also i wanted a heavy more substantial tire crossed over from and old tire to a new heavier tire number. the crossover worked perfectly. I'm totally satisfied with this company and its products and will buy parts here again.

Thanks! I think it was the best purchase I've ever made. They are already mounted on the rings and full of air. The tires held up 70 pounds of air.

Ordered a set of these based on other recommendations that they were a good replacement option for an old trailer with 18.5x8.5-8 tires. They fit great and the shipping was fast!

  • What Tire Pressure Should I Run on the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 215/60-8 Load Range D
Yes. You do want to inflate the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP28 to 70psi, as tires like these should always be inflated to the recommended pressure to ensure the maximum load carrying capabilities.

  • Can I Put Taller Tires On My 4x6 Utility Trailer?
Hey Sheryl, thanks for reaching out. It may be possible to put larger tires on your trailer, but I really can't say exactly what size will work without looking at the trailer. If you are willing to move your fenders, the main thing to consider is the clearance on the inside of the tire. You want to have at least 1" between the inside of the tire and the frame of the trailer. If you want to keep your current 8" wheels, the next size up from your 4.80-8 would be a 165/65-8 or 215/60-8. The...

  • Can Trailer Tire Fit Small 8" x 8" Wheels
Hey Randall, thanks for reaching out! The Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 215/60-8 # AM1HP28 will potentially work, but it is designed for 8" x 7" wheels so my question is where are you measuring your wheel at? The correct way to measure wheel width is from bead seat to bead seat (see attached photo) so if you're currently measuring the overall width of the wheel that would be why you're seeing something different.

  • Recommended Tires And Wheels To Replace 18.5/8.5-8 Tires On Triton Trailer
The tire size you can use as a replacement for your triton trailer is a 215/60-8. If you want just the tire, I recommend part # AM1HP28 which is a Load Range D tire. This 8-ply tire has a load capacity of 1,165 lbs at 70 psi. For a Load Range C tire only I recommend part # AM1HP26. This is a 6-ply tire and has a maximum load rating of 935 lbs at 50 psi. Both of these tires are bias-ply tires and will work on the rims you have for your tires. If you are looking for a wheel/tire combo...

To prevent blowout, the higher load range which includes the higher ply rating is better. It will have a stronger sidewall. The Kenda # AM1HP26 with load range C (6 ply) is rated for 935 lbs at 50 psi and the Kenda # AM1HP28 load range D (8 ply) is rated at 1,165 at 70 psi. With your concern about...

  • Can Larger Tire Than 215/60-8 Be Put on Trailer
We do have a wide variety of trailer tire sizes ranging from tires that fit 8" wheels all of the way up to 17-1/2" tires. When it comes to tires that fit 8" wheels your 215/60-8 tires, like part # AM1HP28, are actually going to be the biggest. If you're wanting to go with a larger tire that requires a larger wheel then that may still be possible but we need to look at a few things first. For proper tire clearance we want to have at at least 2" of space from the sidewall of the tire to...

The 18.5-8.5-8 tire has an overall diameter of 18.5 inches, an overall width of 8.5 inches and fits an 8 inch diameter wheel. The closest size tire I would have is the 215/60-8 bias tire. It will have an overall diameter of 18.1 inches and an overall width of 8.9 inches. You will want to check to make sure you will have the clearance for the extra width. For...

  • Trailer Has Loud and Excessive Vibrations Loaded or Not Loaded
Trailer tires typically do not get balanced because manufacturers tend to match the heavy spot on the tire with the light spot on the wheel. It takes a special rig to balance trailer tires, equipment that not many tire shops have anymore. The other issue is that the trailer tires we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour at most and a lot of other trailer tires are rated lower. I recommend checking the tire sidewalls to see if they have a speed rating. Staying under 70 miles per hour would...

If you just need the tire, we have some options. First is # AM1HP26. This is a load range C tire rated for 935 pounds at 50 psi. Second is # AM1HP28, rated at 1,165 pounds at 70 psi. If you want a tire and wheel combo, we have two options. First, is # AM3H290, that comes with a white steel wheel....
