Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

A good alternative to 20.5 x 8-10 tires

Purchased 2 tires for my trailer. Shipping was fast just in time to install them on my pop up for a trip up north to Lake Isabella .
Drove there no problem and at the camp site the dirt roads are all full of rocks ,cracks , dips , wash outs and the tires held up great .

Drove home no problems either . I seriously love the look of the tires and thr handling was smooth . Attached are pictures of my old tires and the new ones .
Thanks for another great product .

Difficult to find wheel and tire combinations are right here at etrailer…….. I was surprised as well as pleased to find the perfect combination of load range and bolt pattern …… packaging was great ….rims and rubber are all nice and clean

Very happy with my tire purchase. It was great having them pre-mounted! Extremely fast ship. About 36 hours once the item was back in stock. I’ll purchase tires from eTrailer again.

Amazing. I usually only feel comfortable buying on e-bay, after reading reviews was a little skeptical how there could possibly be so many high reviews but decided to give etrailer a try for a pair of trailer wheels and tires. Made order on Monday at 5 pm. received e-mail immediately that order was received and by 10 pm. another e-mail to inform me that order was shipped with a tracking number. Was very interesting to track my order and see it making it's way to our destination in Florida. Arrived just as informed at 4 pm. on Thursday. Items were exactly as described. Very pleased. 5 star for sure

Was very happy with the trailer wheels and tires. Great experience.

excellent looking tires and rims, exactly what I needed for my Jayco. I highly recommend Etrailer for their service and attention.

been about a year now, no flats, no issues, all is well with my tires and rims.

I have an older camper trailer and was thinking about sanding/painting rims to out new tires on, I found these, for only a little more than just tires locally. Justin spent rime with me on phone to make sure I got what I needed at best value. Definitely recommend them and the service!!!

High quality product.Good price. Fast s hipping.

I blew out and old tire on my trailer with a heavy load that wrecked the tire and wheel. This was a perfect fit, good price, and very quick delivery. This is the second time I have used etrailer, and am very happy with them.

Although I do not use the trailer very much, I am still very happy with the tires and the purchase.

Perfect fit and quick shipping.

The tire and wheel fit perfectly and is doing just fine on my trailer

The tires are fine and have been working well. One was missing a valve stem cap.

Great company to work with excellent!!!

I like the tires, I don’t use the trailer often but they seem to be solid and handle the weight designed for

Exactly what I needed for my popup camper. Though I don't overload "too" much these tires but the load rating gives me that piece of mind. Price was lowest I could find with shipping coasts included. Extremely happy with purchase. Great company!! Fast shipping. Thanks a lot. I placed just under 3500 miles on them last year and feel they will last at least 10 years before I replace for safety purposes. Again just used seasonally.

Used these to replace tires/wheels on a 1985 Coleman Pop up camper. Price was great for wheel/tire combo. I have used them recently on an 8hr trip each way. Towed at 65mph on the highway, lots of back roads mixed in. Towed great, no sway. Never got too hot. Hopeful that they'll last well with minimal issues. As always great service from etrailer, quick shipping.

We had bought 2 tires to replace the old dry rotted ones from a Coleman Laramie pop up camper we bought. Searched on the internet to determine what to buy and this website came up with advice for another customer and it worked out awesome for us. I just purchased another one to use for the spare tire.
The company followed up with us letting us know when our tires had shipped and when they should be delivered, GREAT customer service.

I bought a pair of these tire and wheel assemblies for my coleman pop up camper. They were already set up and easy to install. We camped all summer long and we had no issues and the wear on the tires better than expected.

Ordered 2 trailer tires and wheels for my pop up camper. Looks great and the service I received from George J regarding shipping status was more than expected. I will definitely buy from etrailer again.

really like these people have great customer service, they are on top of your order. they let you know of any problems or if its on time. my trailer tires came in at a reasonable time and fit perfectly and look good on my old camping trailer. Again the staff over there are awesome and great.

Great tire fits my 95 jayco pop up camp er.

Installed on pontoon trailer to replace the undersized tires it came with. Have been working well so far. Love the fact that they are rated for highway speeds.

my choice for selecting etrailer for purchasing this specific tire/rim was the attractive pricing compared to other Vender offers.
I'm glad I ordered through etrailer; the product was shipped within a couple of days and
is a complete match with the already mounted tires on a Golf Course Beverage cart.

At first i was upset because i ordered tires and they became out of stock AFTER i ordered them! But i called and spoke to an amazing customer service rep who was more then willing to help me find something that was in stock and could be shipped to me the next day since i needed them by a certain date! He was so awesome and we ended up finding something that would work! Highly recommend etrailer there customer service and shipping is over all amazing!! Will definitely do business with them again!! Plus my tires look great!

delivery was slower than promised, probably due to global shipping issues (Suez Canal blockage, Covid ) Tires & wheels look great, fit as expected...

Purchased for ATV trailer, form, fit and function as advertised.
Delievered early!

Worked great for a small trailer!

  • Will Wheel And Tire Combination # AM3H410 Be Compatible With 2.49 Inch Hub?
Yes. The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D # AM3H410 is a replacement for the 20.5 x 8.0-10. The pilot hole is 2-1/2 inches in diameter which will be a tight fit over your hub which is 2.49, but will fit if that is the widest point you measured. The wheels are centered based on the lugs not the pilot, so as long as it fits over whether snug or loose you won't have a problem. I recommend cleaning that hub really well and even putting a little...

  • Should Trailer Tire Be Inflated To Maximum Air Pressure Listed On Sidewall Of Tire
You are correct. The tire that is included with the Kenda Tire/Wheel Combo, part # AM3H410 should be inflated to 70 psi. At the maximum air pressure, the tires will perform and wear best, and get the best gas mileage. If a trailer tire is inflated to a lower air pressure than the maximum, the amount of weight that the tire can carry will be reduced. If a heavier load is put on the trailer tire than what is recommended for that air pressure, the sidewall of the tire could heat up and cause...

  • Is Trailer Tire and Wheel Size 20.5 x 8 x 10 Fine for Highway Use
As long as you are under the weight capacity for the wheel/tires as well as stay under the speed rating for them you'll be fine. For example, we have the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel # AM3H410 which has a weight capacity of 1,320 lbs at 70 psi and a speed rating of 65 mph. As long as you are under the numbers mentioned you'd be fine.

  • Determining The Actual Weight On Your Trailer Tires
If you have a tire rated with a maximum load of 1320 lbs like the Kenda # AM3H410 you would double that maximum capacity on a single axle like you stated. That maximum load capacity is including any and all weight on the tire, so you would need to deduct the trailer weight as it sits on that tire and axle. For a best result, you would have to use a scale to weigh the axle when loaded without the tow vehicle on the scale but still connected and carrying the tongue weight...although this...

The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D # AM3H410 is a good choice for your golf cart. • Recommended Tire and Wheel for an Old Coleman Columbia Pop Up Camper
Your 20.5x8.0-10 tire can be swapped to a 205/65-10 without issue at all. I suggest going with the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D # AM3H410 as this will have a load rating D (1,320 pounds and 70 psi), and a speed rating of 65 miles per hour. This will get you a much better tire, but will have virtually the same wheel keeping the stock look. Due to the limited space you look to have, I would not recommend going with a larger tire.

  • Picking Between Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel Load Range C or D
I'd go with the part # AM3H410 over the # AM3H370 since it is a Load Range D which has a higher weight capacity of 1,320 lbs compared to 1,100 lbs per tire. Aside from that there really isn't much difference.

As long as your current wheel has 4 wheel stud holes the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel part # AM3H370 will be a great choice. Overall it is 20.5" in diameter so a perfect match for what you have and a width of 8.3" so it's 3/16" of an inch wider on each side. This is a load range C tire that gives you 1,100 lbs. of capacity at 50 PSI so it will work great with campers up to 2,200 lbs. since we are using two.
