  It sounds like you installed leaf springs that weren't the correct length for your setup. Looking at your equalizer it looks like your springs are too long. The simplest solution would be to have your front and rear suspension hangers removed and reinstalled further out and that would get rid of the issue. Sometimes a shorter length equalizer can help but for you I don't think there's a way to get a shorter one in there.

  It sounds like your trailer isn't sitting totally level when hooked up to your tow vehicle. Does the front of the trailer sit higher than the rear? Judging by the angle of the equalizer in the picture you sent me it looks to be nose high. If so, then you would need to go with a ball mount that has more drop to allow it to sit level when you are towing.
