What is the Compressed Dimensions of the etrailer 3-Leaf Double-Eye Springs

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/26/2025

Question:

How much does the e84SR leaf spring compress when under max load? Meaning how much closer does the axle get to the frame when loaded vs unloaded?

Hey Preston, we don't have that exact measurement but typically springs compress about 1 1/2" when under a full load. So not under a load, the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # e84SR is 3 3/16" from the top of the springs to the center of the eye - under a load it would effectively compress to 1 11/16".

If there is anything else I can do for you, feel free to let me know in the comments and I'd be happy to help!

Hey Preston, how did things turn out with the 3-leaf spring on your trailer once it was loaded? Did the compression measurement you saw line up with that 1-1/2 inch estimate? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same setup.

@RobinH Hey Robin, I used a large water tote to place 2000lbs of weight on the axle and leaf springs. I measured 1 3/4" of compression. Hope this is helpful information!
