Features to know about

Smooth, Steady Ride on Rough Roads: 5-Leaf Slipper Spring Handles Heavy Loads

When your old suspension starts bouncing over every bump, this 5-Leaf Slipper Spring brings the ride back under control. Rated for 6,000-lb trailer axles with a 3,000-lb spring capacity, it flexes just enough to soak up road shock while keeping the trailer level. The 27" unloaded length and 2" spring width match standard heavy-duty setups, giving your suspension the right mix of strength and comfort.

Built to Last: Sturdy Steel with 3/8" Thick Leaves

Factory springs can sag or crack after years of use. This one’s made from tough steel with five 3/8" thick leaves that hold up to long miles and heavy loads. The hook-end design lets the slipper slide smoothly into the hanger or equalizer, keeping the suspension moving freely without binding. It’s a reliable replacement that restores proper axle alignment and ride height.

Simple, Durable Connection Points: 9/16" Nylon-Bushed Eye

The spring eye comes fitted with a 9/16" inner-diameter nylon bushing, so the bolt seats snug and quiet. That bushing reduces metal-to-metal wear and helps prevent squeaks as the suspension flexes. The eye mounts at the front hanger while the slipper end slides into the rear hanger or equalizer, giving a strong, low-maintenance setup that stays solid on the road.

Perfect Fit for Balanced Suspension: Replace in Pairs for Even Support

Springs can stretch and sag with age, which throws off alignment. Replacing both sides at once keeps the suspension balanced and the trailer tracking straight. With precise dimensions—11-7/8" (A), 24-1/4" (B), 3-1/2" (C), 12-3/4" (D), 15-3/4" (E), and 3-1/2" (F)—this spring installs cleanly and restores the correct stance for dependable towing.

Technical diagram of a 5-leaf slipper spring with hook end for 6,000-lb trailer axles, showing labeled dimensions A through F for accurate measurement and fitment reference.

  • A: Length from center of eye to end of the spring with the slipper (This is the most important measurement and it allows for slight variations in this measurement because the springs can sag and elongate as a result of wear.)
  • B: Length from center of eye to highest point of slipper end
  • C: Height from top center of spring to center of eye
  • D: Length from center of eye to middle of the spring

Note

  • Replacement guidance: To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

Correct item at the right price, but very disappointed about shipping times. When I ordered the part it said that the UPS ground option would arrive on 4/18. After I placed the order the shipping information updated to arriving on 4/22. I needed this leaf spring for my work trailer and time is money. Again, a good price and good part, but if timing is sensitive, I'll be considering other options in the future.

  • Replacement 27" Long Slipper Spring
Hey Chris, thanks for the part number. I was able to find that pdf online. Your Karavan 219-00059 slipper spring measures 27.125" long. The closest option I have to this is the 27" long 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles item # e67SR. Does the eye hole on your slipper spring attach to a shackle link or directly to the spring hanger?

  • Recommended Hanger Spacing For Triple Axle Trailer Using E67SR Springs And TREQ1304 Equazlizer
Hello Jarrod, thanks for reaching out. For that # E67SR and # TREQ1304 equalizer your hanger spacing should be right around 30". This is only a rough guideline though. The only way to truly know the exact hanger spacing for your trailer will be to mock up the suspension then weld them on as needed. 30" should be a really good starting point for that, but you may need to tweak it slightly.

  • Replacement 26-5/8" Long Slipper Spring
Hey Scott, welcome back! The 26-5/8" Long 5-Leaf Slipper Spring item # e74SR are definitely going to be the best option. Thanks for taking a measurement with the unloaded weight! Don't get that too often. They're sold individually and rated at 3,500 lbs apiece. They'll feel like new springs but they won't be overrated for 6,000 lbs axles. As far as a replacement equalizer goes, the Tandem-Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit for 2" Slipper Springs item # AP202 will work so long as they are the...

  • Troubleshooting End of Slipper Spring Popping Out on 2023 Outlaw Gooseneck Flatbed Trailer
The picture with the torn up bushing looks like the eye of your slipper spring. Is that correct? If so, it is coming undone and probably the reason you're having this problem. It should be enclosed and not look similar to the hook on the end of the slipper spring. Replacing your leaf springs will likely solve the issue. This is a new 2023 trailer so you also might want to check to see if the dealer is willing to cover any repairs. That isn't exactly normal unless you're grossly overloading...

  • Recommended Replacement Leaf Slipper Springs for 27-1/4 inch Leaf Slipper Springs
Yes, what you described sounds exactly like a leaf slipper spring. Since you want to go by the eye-to-eye, or in your case open-eye, measurement I recommend the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e67SR. This leaf slipper spring is rated for 6,000 lbs and has an eye-to-open-eye measurement of 27 inches. The extra 1/4 inch that you measured is nothing to be worried about since leaf springs can tend to stretch out a little bit over time. I am attaching a demonstration...

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Slipper Springs
In order to find the correct replacement slipper spring you will need the length, width, and the capacity. The leaf count does not indicate capacity and is not important when determining a replacement. This information would also make a difference in the mounting hardware. For example, the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Open Eye End # e24SR is 27" long, 1-3/4" wide, and designed for 4,300 lb axles. Assuming a single axle, you could use the # APS3SE and # APUBR-1 (this is for a 2-3/8" diameter...

  • How to Determine Which Springs Will Replace the Ones on a 5,100 Pound Dexter Axle
To replace the springs on your travel trailer, we will need to know a few things. First, we will need to know if the springs are slipper style springs, like the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e67SR, or double eye springs, like the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e78SR. From there, you will need to measure your current springs. If you have double eye springs, you will measure from the center of one eye to the center of the other eye....

  • How To Determine The Correct Leaf Springs For A Gooseneck Trailer
The first step here would be to find the axle capacity so that you can get the correct capacity leaf springs. If there isn't any tags/stickers/labels on the axle to indicate the capacity then you can measure the diameter of the axle to figure out a general weight capacity. Below is the typical capacity of an axle based on the diameter. 1,000-lb - 2,000-lb Axles: 1-1/2" - 1-3/4" diameter 3,500-lb Axles: 2-3/8" diameter (can have a 3-1/2" diameter, but rarely) 6,000-lb - 7,200-lb Axles:...

Slipper springs come in 1-3/4 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/2 inch and 3 inch widths. You most likely have a 2 inch spring. The number of leafs isn't the issue, but rather the weight capacity of the spring. We do have one spring that is 2 inches wide and 27 inches long and it is # e67SR which is for a 6,000 lb axle. For Slipper Springs to install on your trailer that will have a maximum load of around 10,000 pounds, I recommend either the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000 pound Axles # e67SR or the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring for 5,000 Pound Axles # SP-231275, depending on the actual axle capacity for your trailer. Thank you for the pictures and the explanation! The leaf spring that fits the spacing you have is the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e67SR. If you check out the attached photo the "B" dimension is 24-1/4" which is measured from the center of the bolt hole eye to the front of the rear hanger. Since it looks like your rear hanger is about 1-1/2" long this puts you about at the 24-1/4" mark and means this slipper spring will fit!

The hanger spacing is going to depend on a few things including the spring measurements and the equalizers being used. But if you were using spring # e67SR the distance between the hangers would be around 29-3/4 inches. However this is using hanger kit # AP202-H202 with 10-1/8 inch equalizers. If you were using kit # AP216-H202 the hanger spacing guideline would be 31-1/2 inches because the equalizers are longer. So you can see that it changes depending on the components being used.
