Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CE Smith three inch long by 7/16 diameter. This is zinc-plated steel U-Bolt. Now this is a multipurpose square U-Bolt. Intended for use on trailers to help secure brackets, mounts, and cargo.
You can see it has a nice zinc-plated steel construction. It's very sturdy and resists corrosion. This part will include everything right out here on the table. Includes the one U-Bolt, the two flat washers, and the two nyloc nuts. This part is made in the USA.
Again, it's for quantity of one U-Bolt. Last thing we'll do is give you dimensions and only say three inches long. You measure from the inside to the bottom of the bolt, and there's your three inch measurement. The width inside the inside is 4 1/8 inches. And the diameter we mentioned on the bolt itself is 7/16 of an inch.

This is not necessarily a review about the product (it is a large U bolt - nothing crazy here), but more of a review about etrailer. I have ordered from them for about 5 years. I love their customer focus. They are super informed and helpful when it comes to selecting compatible parts. And that is worth a lot. Also, they ask for a review 1 year after a purchase. IMO, that is the right amount of time to see if a product lived up to use/abuse.
They're not just a box of plated U bolts, nylock nuts, and washers. They're a tight package of fine hardware individually packaged in hard plastic to protect the threads and finish. A box of a dozen didn't even rattle. I have no doubt that they will lock my boat trailer bunk board supports in place vey solidly and reliably.

I have not gotten a chance to install items however out of the package the items all look great! I decided to go with stainless U bolts instead of the Zinc coated ones and ordered them the next day and they were delivered promptly. I had to return the Zinc ones which was so easy with one phone call and a RA# via email. Very impressed how easy it was.

Perfect fit
Customer support was great, a live person who happily spent some time on the phone. I ended up not using them for my car roof rack that holds my outrigger canoe. I ended up using some traditional u bolts which fit a bit better. I had to compare them on the rack to decide. While they were fairly expensive, [for] the bolts with shipping. It would have been worth it if they had fit better than the u-bolts. I did not return them and will probably find a use for them on some other project. Quality of the bolts seemed good.
Haven't installed the items yet, but they seem of good quality & are exactly what I need & what I expected. Shipping was quite fast & communication excellent! Should the need arise, I'll do business with etrailer again.
