Recommended Replacement Leaf Slipper Springs for 27-1/4 inch Leaf Slipper Springs

Updated 06/01/2017 | Published 05/30/2017

Question:

I have a trailer suspension question. My 5x8foot trailer currently has a single axle w/4 lug hubs. The leaf springs need to be replaced and Im having trouble finding replacements. The springs are 29inch overall with an open eye on one end. 27 1/4inch eye to open eye. 3/4inch wide. Can I use your slipper leaf springs to replace mine using the standard open eye bracket? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, what you described sounds exactly like a leaf slipper spring. Since you want to go by the eye-to-eye, or in your case open-eye, measurement I recommend the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e67SR.

This leaf slipper spring is rated for 6,000 lbs and has an eye-to-open-eye measurement of 27 inches. The extra 1/4 inch that you measured is nothing to be worried about since leaf springs can tend to stretch out a little bit over time. I am attaching a demonstration video where the 27 inch measurement is taken so you can be sure that we measured the same distance that you did.
