Checking and maintaining proper tire pressure is important for ensuring a safe, smooth ride and maximizing fuel economy, but it can be a real pain with dually tires. The Wheel Masters inflation kit takes the hassle out of checking air pressure and inflating your dual tires.

Two hoses extend the valve stem location of the inner tires to the outer wheels. This means no more crawling around on the ground or blindly reaching for the valve stem on the inner tire. Two 135-degree hoses are also included to make it easier to access the valve stems of the outer tires. And the stainless steel wrapping on the hoses helps prevent them from cracking or leaking.

Hub-Mount Installation

Inflation Hose Kit Hub Mount

The dually inflation kit is designed for steel or aluminum rear wheels with wheel liners.

  1. Install 2 of the included brackets on the hub of each outer wheel. Make sure to align the brackets with the valve stem and a hand hole.
  2. Attach the hoses with straight valve extenders to the valve stems on the inner tires.
  3. Attach the hoses with 135-degree-angled extenders to the valve stems on the outer tires.
  4. Run the hoses to the outer wheels and attach the hoses to the hub-mounted brackets.
  5. Screw on the valve caps.

Easy to install as long as you have a small right angle drill. I bought such a tool 20 years ago and have used it twice, back in 2004 on a 1997 Tioga and again this year installing this same dually inflation kit on the wheel covers of my 2016 Thor. Installation was basic, with just a little care to make sure the hoses lined up opposite of one another, and the brackets positioned the hoses with the right amount of slack and angle. Makes inflation (before every trip!!) a breeze, can't easily do it without this kit.

by:

We put these on our Ford E350 dually Shuttle bus. They work great! It’s been one year and we’re very happy.

We also bought a set of the large rubber spacers that go in the hole of the dually rim to hold the braided line.

Easy to check and fill dually tires. They do not leak either. Highly recommend!

by:

These were exactly as described and feel like they are a well made item. So far (1yr) they have not leaked at all and I have had no issues with them but for one exception: After a couple thousand miles in hot summer driving and with RV tire pressures creeping up to 115psi while on the road, there is a thick black rubbery substance extruding out between the strands of the braided covering. If this is just cosmetic it's not big deal because it cleans off easily. I am concerned that it may be the rubber of the line inside the braided covering starting to break down and that could be dangerous.

I reached out to the manufacturer and they advised that with extreme heat it is possible that they are melting on the inside. However it would be the first time that they had heard about it happening. Would it be possible that oil ha gotten in or on the lines? Would you be able to send a picture of what you are seeing?

Steven

2/15/2024

@JennyN Hi Jenny, There was still some of the black substance on the inflator lines so I'm sending a few pictures. It's hard to see details in the pictures but it is a dry, but clingy, slightly grainy substance with a definite rubbery feel. It scrapes off easily and clumps together easily as well. It almost looks like there is a slight pattern to it before scrapping it off as if it were extruded through the braided metal wires of the covering. It is not uniform over all the length of the inflator cables and it is not uniform on all sides of the cable. The RV has been sitting since last Fall and it has not gotten worse in that time. The only time I have noticed it occurring is after several hours of highway driving in hot weather. I maintain the tire air pressure at 110 psi cold as recommended by the tire manufacturer. I know the temperature and pressure increases while traveling but I don't have an accurate way to measure that while in motion. That's all I can think of to mention right now. If you or the manufacturer have any other questions I'll do my best to answer them

2/15/2024

@Steven I had Wheel Masters take a look at the pictures and they did not see any separation in the in the extender that would account for the black substance. They felt it could be grease and/or oil from the axle or the brakes. You can use the extenders and not have to worry about the rubber deteriorating.

Steven

2/29/2024

@JennyN Before our next long (hot) drive next Summer I may clean the lines and isolate two of them by placing some kind of durable, non permeable membrane around them. That would eliminate any chance of another substance collecting on the lines. I do not at all mind being proven wrong, but if not I'll remove the extenders and I can let you know the results either way. I don't expect any compensation or replacement from Wheel Masters or E-trailer, but if there is indeed a problem then they need to know about it before there is an accident, damage, or injury. Thanks for your prompt attention. Dealing with you in this matter, as well as dealing with E-trailer in general, has been a pleasant experience.

by:

The extensions screwed on easily, just had to fiddle with which way to orient the hoses so they fit through the wheel cover. Had to buy a right-angle drill adapter and some short drill bits to fit between the "rim" and center hub of the wheel cover to drill the L-bracket holes. Stainless steel is a bugger to drill compared to mild steel or aluminum, but the new drill bits helped. Only needed the 135° adapter hose for the outside rim because the inner rim had a easy to reach extension already installed by the factory. Should make checking tire pressure much easier, and with a "regular" gauge and air chuck instead of that 2-way chuck.

by:

Been on truck about a year.

Well
made kit that just exactly what it claims to do—makes airing up the duals as easy as airing the steer tires.
It makes would *should* be an easy job actually easy.

Install was straightforward. No complaints and would/will buy again.

by:

Fairly easy to install. Had some difficulties with installing the riveted bracket to the center hub of my wheel simulator (hubcap) being stainless it’s very hard to drill with a 90 degree drill motor (not much room either). But the finished job looks good.

by:

Installed to replace an existing set on an F53 chassis with 19.5” tires. Lengths of the extenders is perfect for these wheels. They have good stem seals as tires maintain pressure for many months. Only draw back is the routing puts them in contact with wheel simulator cutouts which over many miles will start to cut into the metal sleeve. This was the reason I decided to replace the original set.

by:

We have had no issue with air leaking from valves.

Chris

8/11/2023

I have had no issues with the RV tire pressure because of the valve stems and rear extenders.

by:

The hose inflation kit allowed me to install flow through sensors on the rear wheels of my motorhome. They would also make it easier to check pressure and add air. I had to borrow a right angle drill to be able to mount the right angle brackets on the hub. But once in place these work very well.

by:

Since installing, I have not had any problems with the tire valve extensions. Actually makes checking and inflating tires much easier.

by:

While purchased about a year ago, I just recently finally got them installed. I did have to drill some small holes in my chromed plastic hubs to mount the bases, but it was all straightforward. Now to find the remaining TPMS sensors I’ve set aside for the rear tires.

2016 F350 duallie.
This air valve extension
kit solved my issue. It was a battle getting air into my inners through the stock stems. I bought different chucks and a couple worked... ok. OK doesn't cut it in the middle of winter in NH so I wanted a good solution.
This was it. Valves are right up front for easy access. Doesn't look half bad either.

You would think the downside is that there is no balancing valve like pricier units. I have to fill each tire individually. Not really a bad thing since I run the inners a little lower when the truck is empty, most of the time. Bump them up even with the outers when hauling. Couldn't do that with a balancing valve.

So a year later and etrailer reached out to me to update my review after a years use. Well, I havent thought about the kit much since I put it onto my duallie. I think that sums it up. They work. I dont have to visit with them except to make sure my pressures are where I want them and when I look at my wheels I like what I see. Good price, good kit, good results. Win.

by:

Installation was relatively easy. Initially I thought I may need to remove the outer wheel assembly to access the inner dually. I was able to squeeze my fat hand through and thread the hose on without much of a fight. The stiff hoses are a little tough to manipulate into place to determine where to mount the brackets. I opted to drill my decorative axle cover and pop rivet them in place. I did foul up on one bracket though. The instructions stated for my Ford to pop rivet from the inside. Obviously this is to give more surface area on the plastic cover. I drilled the last bracket holes without paying attention and one hole was too close to the lug attaching point. No way to get the rivet gun on that one. Had to install it from the outside. If it gives out I'll re-do it with a back up washer. Just pay attention when/if you drill yours. MAKE SURE OF YOUR CLEARANCE! So far I like these things!

by:

Makes checking air pressures very easy. Having a class B on a Sprinter chassis, the outside tires were extremely difficult to monitor...now easily handled. Not difficult to install.

My previous comments still apply

by:

The only reason I did not give a 5 star review is I had to make a slight modification to the outter wheel hoses. On my 2017 Ford F-450, the 135-degree bend did not allow me to connect the hose to the existing valve stem. I used a vise and carefully adjusted the bend to approx 140 degrees on each hose and they worked fine. I also recommend you use longer pop rivets and use backers on them to ensure long term durability of the mount. Now, the the kit itself: I really like it. After install, I was able to check the tire pressure and easily inflate both sets of duals to the recommended 80 psi. With this kit, maintain proper air pressure is going to be much easier. I expect a long service life from this kit and I'm very happy with the purchase.

by:

I have a 1997 Ford F-350 Ford Dually with wheel simulators. Can't check or add air to tires with the simulators. Saw your wheel masters inflation kit. I ordered the 135 degree kit. Broke the ends off the bent hoses trying to get them to fit thru the rim & simulator hole. Re-ordered the 90 degree WM8001 kit. Found out the hard way that the installer of my tires used 4" rubber valve stems. This kit works great if you use a 4" straight valve stem on the inside wheel and a 1 1/4" valve stem on the outside wheel (bolt thru wheel valve stem). The correct valve stems are the secret to making this kit work. Completed installing the kit today and am completely satisfied.

by:

No Problems, install easy! I would buy again.

by:

Bought these to replace a set that I've had on my truck for over 10 years. Guess they just finely wore out, but never leaked once the whole time. These make airing up your dually's super easy.

Curt B.

10/28/2022

These are still holding up fine. No signs of leaking or deterioration. Excellent product !!!!!!!

by:

My First Set of These Lasted for About (8) Years. I Purchased the Same Extender's Because the Passenger Side Started Leaking Down Slowly. After (8) Years That is to be Expected, in My Opinion!

by:

The angled hose fitting DOES NOT fit 2017 F450 dually. It's not bent
tight enough to fit in the hole in the wheel.

I did use the straight hose and it's ok.

by:

Had them installed today and we expect them to really help us monitor and care for our tires. Thank you!!!

For your 2014 Ford F-250/350 Super Duty you will want to use Wheel Masters 4-Hose Inflation Kit part # WM8001.
