Features to know about

Brighter, Longer-Lasting, and Efficient: LED Tail Light That Just Works

No more dim bulbs or constant replacements. This Thinline trailer tail light uses 9 LEDs that put out a bright, clean red light while drawing very little power—only 0.2 amps for the stop light and 0.01 amps for the tail light at 12.8 volts. With no filaments to break and no bulbs to swap, it lasts up to 50 times longer than old incandescent lights. It’s dependable, efficient, and ready to run every time you hook up power.

Worrying About Water Damage: Fully Submersible and Sealed Design

If your trailer ever hits rain or the boat ramp, this light keeps working through it all. The housing and red lens are sonically sealed into one waterproof unit, so water can’t seep in and ruin the LEDs or circuit board. Whether you’re towing through wet conditions or backing into the water, the sealed design keeps the internals dry and protected.

Tight Spaces Made Simple: Low-Profile Thinline Fit

When space is tight or you want a clean, modern look, this low-profile strip fits right in. At just 12-5/8" long, 1" tall, and 1/2" deep, it mounts flush on flat surfaces using holes spaced 11-3/4" apart on center. The slim shape blends neatly along trim lines or trailer rails without sticking out where things can catch on it.

Easy Wiring You Can Count On: Straightforward 3-Wire Connection

You don’t need to guess which wire goes where—everything’s clearly laid out. The 3-wire pigtail uses standard 19 AWG wires: white for ground, black for tail/running lights, and red for stop and turn functions. That makes installation fast and easy whether you’re replacing an old light or adding new ones for extra visibility.

Built Tough for Real Road Use: Shock-Resistant LED Circuitry

Road bumps and vibrations can shake apart lesser lights, but this one’s built with durable surface-mount technology that keeps the LED board stable and secure. The sturdy polycarbonate lens and housing handle everyday impacts and resist cracking from vibration or heat buildup. It’s DOT compliant and built to last through years of use without flicker or fade.

I ordered 2 of these lights to install on my bike rack. They work great, nice and bright and easy to wire.

A year later and still working perfectly.

by:

Haven't hooked it up yet but tried it out on a 12 volt battery and it looks good, works fine. Wire colors are a little confusing but maybe that's the proper convention. White goes to ground, red to bright stoplight positive, black to running light positive. No instructions came but easy to figure out. Shipping time was excessive but maybe covid accounts for that.

Works fine

Perfectly designed and very easy to install. Adds another layer of safety and is well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend this for any type of bike rack.

by:

The lights were awesome. We added them to the back of a 16' flatbed trailer just under the back lip. The lights were in addition to the regular taillights. The idea was if someone was to close to see the side lights , they could see these from the back. They were also easy to install, we just tapped into the regular taillights. We are thinking about adding these to our dump trailer as well.

Still great 1 year later. Awesome buy.

by:

I have a home made utility trailer with round tail lights that are big enough that if the front of the trailer is lifted to high the back hits the ground and the tail lights break. these are thin enough that they will not contact the ground and therefore not break. They look good and arrived as advertised. The screw hole on the ends are all plastic. It would have been nice if a metal collar or end was there to keep the plastic from cracking if the screws are over thightened. I just got them and haven't had a chance to see if they work ok or not.

They are working great Im impressed with how visible they are. Highly recommend them.

The part was the one I expected, but I will look elsewhere unless your shipping time is decreased.

by:

Great product. Great service. Fast shipping

by:

Usd them before, great little light.

by:

Easy to install. temporally connected to wires to verify operation. White wire is ground. Used a step drill to make a hole for the wires.

by:

Don't waste your time and money on Amazon crap. These have been working great for over a year in fresh and salt water with great rinses when done.

Just an update here, the lights are still performing great. Awesome product!!!

by:

After adding larger tire carrier on the JK, this was a perfect solution for relocating the brake light. Added a quick disconnect on the inside when the roof is off. Quick and easy install.

by:

these lights are absolutely blinding. They work great! The pictures are running lights only, NOT Brake Lights!

by:

I bought 3 lights (1) spare. I lost the brake light function on one about 9 months after installation. Lights are very bright and durable.
Only negative, wires weren't labeled for function/usage.

by:

I purchased this light to replace a 3rd brake light on my pick-up topper.the product information and dimensions were vital to my installation and ETRAILER were spot on.The light is bright and looks great, excellent company

by:

Great light, very bright. Only thing is wires aren't labeled to the function they control. Only complaint is length, I wish the light was 3-4 inches shorter.

Excellent, not one issue

by:

Recently built a headache rack and the slim design worked out perfectly. Hardly noticeable during daylight, well lit during the dark hours

by:

These tail lights work great on my custom built wheelchair trailer. They are bright, easy to mount and function as needed. They've been on the trailer for a year with regular use and no problems to date.

by:

The light itself is an LED light. But it has stop tail turn functions. Which if using it as a third brake light you have to ground it multiple times so that the LEDs do not illuminate when you do not want them to. I used this as a third brake light in my 51 Chevy

by:

Two of these lights were mounted on a rear hitch bike rack since the truck tail lights can't be seen with the bikes on the rack. I am extremely happy with the quality and brightness of the lights. Shipping was great and items were packed with care.

by:

Lights were easy to install on rear steel plate of trailer. 3 holes drilled per light (2 for mounting, 1 for wire access). Lights are bright and very visible in daylight conditions. Lights are protected by design of rear steel plates. Very satisfied.

by:

The lights are exactly what I needed to make a light bar for my hitch mounted bike rack. When our bikes were on the rack it reduced the visibility of the cars's stop lights, brake lights and turn signals. The bar rotates so the lights are visible in the rack's up or down position.

by:

I wanted additional brake light visibility higher up on rear of my camper. The STD lights were low and partly obscured if I was hauling bikes on their rack. There was no good way to run wiring inside and I didn't want holes as possible leak points. So I mounted these thin, bright LED lights high along outer edges, connected wiring to existing brake lights, encasing wiring in heat shrink tubing and siliconed all in place. Looks good, works great!

by:

Incredibly bright for a compact light! This is most definitely in a different league than the "Amazon special" lights I've used in the past. The turn / brake function is highly visible even in bright light, at night even more so.

Nicely constructed light too, I expect it to last for years without issue. Don't forget, no gasket is included so you'll need to fashion your own if mounting on an RV or enclosed trailer. Also be sure to measure twice and drill once if you need for the wires, they are not quite centered vertically. I added these to a truck camper for some extra visibility, they worked out great and add a modern touch to an older rig!

by:

I was looking for lights to add to a receiver hitch cargo carrier for nighttime visibility. These were perfect for size and function. The housings were sturdy, the wiring was sealed and they worked on the first try, as tail lights, turn signal and brake lights. Would definitely recommend these!

Still working perfectly 1 year later!!

The day pic's were from 6:30 p.m. 06/07/19. Notice you can't see the stock taillights from 10 ft. away. Hence my purchase of these LED lights for the angle iron uprights. The night pic's are 2 ft. from my garage door at 9:30 p.m., 06 07/19, and this is what drivers behind me will see. These LED's are slim, well made, water proof, and attach like a breeze. I LOVE THESE LIGHTS!!!!!! As I told Carol, the pigtail wires should be 11/2 to 2ft. instead of 8". My only downside to these lights. I Have 3 trailers and from now on etrailer.com is my go to site!! Thanks a million, great product.

  • How to Use a Taillight for Both Third Brake and Running Light Functions
In order to use a third brake light for both brake and running light signals, you would need to use a light with turn, brake, and running light capabilities such as the Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light part # STL59RB. As most trailers are a 3 wire system you would also need to use the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter part # 118158 to separate the brake signals from turn the signals. In order to install the light you would first need to take the ground wire (white) from the taillight...

  • Parts Needed To Haul Your Bikes On The Back Of Your RV
Hey Jeffrey, The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # SH22G is a great rack but unfortunately is not rated for use on the back of an RV. The suspension of a trailer differs greatly compared to that of your personal vehicle. RV/Trailer suspension is designed solely to bear weight and not for comfort so it tends to bounce quite a bit, which can end up damaging the bike rack. Your vehicle's suspension is designed for comfort and is much softer. Adapters like the 2" to 1-1/4" you referenced...

If your 17" light bar has 3 wires like the Optronics Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL59RB, then it is only meant to be used on one side. It sounds like you wired everything correctly. I believe that you are spot on with why it is not working correctly. For the bar to have 2 different turn signal sections it would need to have 4 wires. Since it only has 3 this means that the entire light bar will light up whenever it gets any kind of signal. If you wanted separate turn signals then...
