Question:
Hello, We recently purchased a Kuat Base NV 2.0 bike hitch for 4 bikes. It’s great however it does block a significant amount of our back lights. I’m not sure how or what to use to for backlights as it’s not even and has an arm the raises on one side. Picture included for reference. Thank you!??

Since you have the tow package with the trailer adapter you can attach lights to your bike rack If you use a 7-pin to 4-pin adapter, like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors, part # C55774, you can attach a trailer light system to your rack. A lightbar system or two trailer lights will work, but if you attach them with screws or bolts you will void the warranty of your Kuat NV 2.0.
If you go with a traditional light system I recommend the Light Kit for Draw-Tite, Tow Ready, and Rola Railed Cargo Carriers, part # 20174, and the Trailer Light Mounting Bracket for 6-1/2" Oval Trailer Lights, Steel - Black Powder Coat, part # BK70BB. The mounting brackets work with the light kit and if they were mounted your brake lights, turn signals, and hazard lights would all be seen from your Kuat NV 2.0, making the rear of your vehicle visible at night.
There are quite a few videos on YouTube of people adding tail lights and light bars to their hitch bike racks for the same reasons you listed. I have included product description links and video review links below.
