Dragging or wrestling a trailer into position is no fun, especially on gravel or dirt. The Dutton-Lainson jack’s 8" diameter x 3-5/16" wide caster wheel gives you a big footprint for rolling instead of sinking. It turns a full 360 degrees for easy maneuvering in garages, driveways, or campsites. Whether you’re parking on pavement or soft ground, the wide wheel keeps things steady and makes moving by hand noticeably easier.

Saltwater, rain, and road grime destroy lesser jacks fast. This one’s built with two protective layers—first a TUFFPLATE zinc finish with a 500-hour salt-spray rating, then a matte black powder coat that shields against UV and corrosion. Drain holes at the bottom of the inner post keep water from collecting, and the all-steel construction holds its shape through years of use. Even in harsh marine environments, this finish holds up long after ordinary coatings give out.

When it’s time to tow, the jack swings up and out of the way in seconds. A 1/2" diameter pull pin lets the whole unit pivot smoothly, so there’s no dragging or disassembly. The sidewind handle has a 6-1/8" radius that clears your knuckles when cranking, and the jack gives you 12" of lift to hook up or level easily.
A solid mount makes all the difference when you’re supporting real tongue weight. This jack bolts around frames up to 3" wide x 5" tall using the included bracket and hardware. The mounting plate’s 7/16" holes are spaced 5-1/2" across with 2-3/8" and 1" separations from top to bottom for a snug, precise fit. With a 1,500-lb lift capacity, it’s strong enough for most boat and utility trailers, dependable enough to stay that way for years.
The side-mounted crank turns easily under load and gives smooth, controlled lifting. The black finish and rounded steel tube give it a clean, tough look that matches the rugged function. From installation through daily use, it’s straightforward gear that does what it’s supposed to—strong, stable, and ready to roll.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. This jack is meant to work with trailers that have a frame height of 3 - 5 inches. The jack uses a 4 bolt plate to let you mount the jack to the trailer frame. You will want to make sure you are mounting it in a location along the frame where it not interfere with the operation of the trailer. I recommend watching the video that we have on the jack and watching from mark 1:30 to see where we mounted it to the frame.

That’s a great setup, and I love hearing it’s going on a vintage Airstream. Sounds like you’re really putting that wheel to work too, pushing it around that often and even up to 100 yards is no small task. Glad to hear this one feels solid and built the way it should be, especially with the grease fittings and serviceable parts. That makes a big difference over time. That Airstream must be a cool rig. What year is it?
