What Is The Mounting Plate Bolt Spacing For The Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Jack DL22335

Updated 08/18/2025 | Published 07/26/2025

Question:

Hi, I’m looking for help on replacing a jack for my 2002 Four Winns 23’ boat trailer. The tube on the trailer is a 3x4 diameter and has a wielded on plate that could support a center bolt swivel or a new bolt pattern of 5 1/2 W X 3 H. I see many of these Jack have a multiple holes on their plate but I’m unsure of the dimensions. Looking for something I do not have to weld on or bolt a bracket around the tube. I would like to use the existing if possible. Looking for a recommendation that could work here, I like the lot of a larger or dual wheel for end of the year storage as I have to move it some otherwise I’m not picky. This boat is only freshwater MN and sits outside during the summer, stored in the winter. Thanks ahead of time if you can help! Nick

Hello Nick, thanks for reaching out. The Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Jack # DL22335 may work for you. It has 7/16" holes. They are 5-1/2" apart across. There is 2-3/8" between the top hole and the hole under it. Then there is 1" separating the lowermost holes. All of these measurements are taken center hole to center hole. I have included a picture that shows the spacing for your reference so you can see if this matches what you have. It will fit the 3"x4" frame easily. It comes with its own bracket so if it doesn't match what you have you could just bolt it on next to the current welded on bracket.

Hey Nick, did the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Jack work out for your trailer? I'm curious to know if it fit well with your existing setup, as I'd love to help others in a similar situation.

Jesse, Unfortunately the width of the bracket is 5 3/8” from the center of the hole, it will not line up with my existing bracket. I’m going to look to have it welded on as I do like the Jack. Nick

@NickG Ah ok in that case welding will be the only solution. Do let me know if you need anything else!

@JesseM I ended up doing a mod and used the bracket from the old jack and some of the pivot parts. That worked for me! Smooth action and now I can lift my boat much higher to deal with rainwater when it’s sitting on the driveway.
