Easy and convenient turn-wheel latch lets you fit the coupler on this corrosion-resistant, surge-type actuator to a hitch ball measuring 1-7/8", 2" or 50 mm. Designed for use with disc trailer brakes.
Features:
Specs:
When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.
As always I am pleased with etrailer's service and accuracy of information.
Just as advertised. Don’t know where the manual lockout is.

I like it. A few things though. There should be a wire lanyard to the manual lockout tab from getting lost. There should also be something there to hold the manual lockout tab in place while backing and pulling forward. It falls out it you pull forward then back then forward and out she goes. I put a large zip tie around the hitch loose enough to slide but tight enough to keep the lockout tab in place while backing. Other than that the actuator works great and the install was easy for this shade tree mechanic.

The actuator works fine. The ball coupling is a POS. The trailer has come uncoupled twice. One making a left turn at a light. Second time, yesterday, it came uncoupled when loading the boat. It is not easy to tell if the coupler is properly connected with the knob on it. I am not a rookie i have been towing various trailers mostly boats for around 40 year and have never had this much trouble with a coupler. I started looking yesterday for a replacement. I wouldn’t advise buying this type of coupler with the knob on top.

Sorry to hear about that, Ed. The twist knob style is a pain to use. Some people swear by them, but I would be lying if I said anything other than I strongly dislike this style, and that's putting it as lightly as I can. I have tried to use them in the past and had one come uncoupled that I thought was good to go, and then another time it got completely stuck as I over tightened it to make sure that would not happen again. We had to completely destroy it with a sledge hammer to get it off the ball. It had been left on the ball for quite some time, but still. In my opinion, the best ones currently available are the Demco options with their EZ-Latch couplers. The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs # DM62VR matches almost exactly the coupler you currently have, but it is only designed for a 2" ball and includes an electric lockout solenoid. It is the one I would go with.
Quick Shipping, great customer service and fair pricing.

Product is still working great. Truly helps to have trailer brakes again
The unit works good. Was easy to install and was direct fit to replace my old one. My only problem is the multi fit. It does not fit 2” ball like stated in the description. I have tried several balls and have only found 1 out of 7 that would fit.
Delivered on time and was the quality I expected.
Works great
