Question:
I have a 14 Jeep Grand Cherokee it does not have a factory tow package. I installed a class 3 hitch and had the block removed by the dealer so the factory tow wire harness works. Which cable and brake controller will work on my Jeep?

Hello Bill. In order to use a brake controller on your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee you will need to install a 7-way plug first. For that you can use the Curt T-Connector # C62VR along with the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This will include all of the components to install the 7-way, including all of the necessary wires for a brake controller. For the brake controller I suggest the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. You can easily install the controller using the included 4-wire pigtail. I have linked a few installation videos for you below.

Hey Bill, how did things go with adding the Curt T-Connector and the ETBC7 kit on your Grand Cherokee? Did the Tekonsha P3 controller end up working well with your setup? Your update could make it easier for the next person wiring a similar Jeep.
