Features to know about

Build the Axle Assembly You Need

Replacing an axle doesn't always mean replacing every component. This beam-only axle gives you the axle and straight spindles while letting you choose compatible hubs, brakes, springs, and other components (sold separately). Whether you're replacing damaged running gear or building a trailer from the ground up, you can finish the assembly with the components that match your trailer.

Super Lube Spindles Simplify Bearing Maintenance

Routine bearing service takes less work with Super Lube spindles. A grease zerk in the end of each spindle works with a dust cap that has a removable rubber plug, letting you add fresh grease through the spindle instead of removing the hubs for routine lubrication.

Underslung Suspension for a Lower Deck Height

This underslung axle positions the leaf springs below the axle, lowering the trailer compared to an overslung configuration. It's the right choice when you're replacing an existing underslung axle or building a trailer with a lower deck height.

Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Trailer Axles - Trailer Axle Beam With Super Lube Spindle - LC73PK

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Lippert trailer axle beam with Super Lube spindles. Now, this is a trailer axle beam that's designed for trailers in the 2,500 to 3,500-pound axle capacity range. That's going to cover many utility, cargo, and equipment trailers. And this is a beam-only axle, meaning the hubs, the brakes, the springs, and other insulation components are going to be purchased separately from this.

But if you also need those items, we do carry them here at etrailer. So this is going to be a good option when you're replacing an existing axle, but you want to reuse compatible parts or choose your own setup. Now, the most important thing to verify before picking this up is going to be the fit. So this axle is going to measure 86 inches from hub face to hub face, and then it's going to measure 68 1/2 inches from the spring centers. So if those dimensions match your existing axle, then this is going to be designed to fit the same basic trailer layout.

Now, for maintenance, this axle uses Super Lube spindles, which allows you to add grease through the end of the spindle to make routine bearing lubrication easier. By the way, you can see that this already has grease on this end, and it does on the other end as well. This grease is just to protect the spindles during shipping. So when you get this, you want to clean this all off, wipe it all down, and use fresh grease before installing your brakes in your hub. So I just wanted to point that out that this grease is not going to be intended to be used.

It does need to be cleaned away, and then you do want to make sure that you're using your own fresh grease when you're doing the installation. These straight spindles are brake ready, except incompatible 10-inch by 2 1/4-inch hub and brake assemblies. And the axle uses an underslung configuration that positions your springs below the axle for easier loading and unloading. Now, if you think you want some help with installation, we can help you with that on this product page. Underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator.

Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to install this for you. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
