When towing or hauling heavy weight causes the rear end to sag, these SumoSprings Rebel helper springs step in to keep things level. At 50-percent compression they provide up to 5,000 lbs of support, helping your factory suspension stay steady under the load. That keeps steering, braking, and headlight aim consistent while keeping your ride comfortable and controlled.
No two loads are the same, and these springs adapt automatically. Their progressive design means they compress easily with lighter loads for a smooth, less bumpy ride, and firm up as weight increases—compressing by as much as 80 percent when fully loaded. You get soft engagement when empty and solid control when towing or carrying heavy gear.

Unlike single-piece systems that limit movement, the Rebel’s two-piece setup connects at the top and bottom but separates when unloaded. That allows unlimited suspension travel for better comfort on rough terrain or empty runs. When weight is applied, both halves come together to add support right when it’s needed.

Each spring works on its own to balance uneven cargo and reduce body roll in turns. When one side carries more weight or the road dips unexpectedly, the springs react independently to keep the vehicle level and stable through curves, crosswinds, or uneven ground.
These maintenance-free springs are made of durable microcellular urethane that resists oils, road salts, and UV rays while performing in temperatures from -25°F to 200°F. With minimal lateral expansion, they compress vertically without rubbing nearby components. There’s no air pressure to monitor or lines to run—just a straightforward bolt-on installation with the included hardware.

Glad to hear it! I'm a big fan of SumoSprings because they're so easy to install and don't require any maintenance after. What kind of trailer are you hauling?

The springs work great. After a year in service, they are like new. We use this truck as a rental equipment delivery truck. We pull a 26ft gooseneck tilt deck trailer that is 16K rated. The ride is great and the springs handle the load nicely with no sag when loaded. We have added these springs to all 6 of our 1-ton delivery trucks.

These will not fix an already sagging suspension. These are designed to help support suspension but leaf springs need to be replaced they will not fix that much sag. I would recommend using some airbags, like part # F2703, in place of Sumo Springs. You will need a compressor, like part # F2097 for the airbags.

Product is excellent. The springs really reduced the squat I used to have in my truck when I hooked up my fifth wheel camper. Actual reduction in squat was around a 2 inch change. This also keeps the nose of the truck from rising in response to the rear sag I used to have, which makes the overall handling of the total rig a bit better as well. Also, the ride, while connected, is noticeably smoother and feels more stable while driving in stout crosswinds, which we frequently enjoy, here in Oklahoma.

Hey Steve. Thanks for the feedback. This Rebel kit is designed for vehicles carrying variable heavy loads, so some contact at unloaded ride height can be normal depending on the application. If this is a dually, keep in mind this particular kit is intended for commercial applications only, where earlier engagement helps support the heavier loads these trucks regularly carry. I’d still verify the brackets and spacers match the instructions, but the Sumos contacting before the factory overloads does not automatically indicate a problem with this setup.
