Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for a 2001 Ford F-250 Carrying Heavy Truck Bed Camper

Published 07/21/2016

Question:

I have a 2001 F250 SuperDuty XLT 4x4 super cab with factory camper package overload spring. My truck rear squats about 3.5 inches when I load my approximately 3,000 lb. truck camper in the 8foot bed. The truck also develops a bit of sway and some porpoising on certain road surfaces and wind conditions. Im looking for a suspension solution that will help the above symptoms when I carry our truck camper approx. 6-10 x per year in the bed and yet will leave my truck unaffected the rest of the unloaded time. Will these Sumosprings SSR-114-54s do what I need? Will they work with my truck and truck camper? Do I need to place an order for Quantity = 2 or are they sold in pairs and I only need to indicate a quantity of 1. Thanks in advance,

Expert Reply:

For your application I would recommend the Super Springs part # SSR-101-47-2 as it is designed for heavy loads carried in the truck bed like your 3,000 lb camper and because it is also works very well to reduce the sway that you have as well.

This would be your best option.
