When you’re towing a trailer or hauling heavy gear, sagging suspension can throw off your steering, braking, and headlight aim. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs deliver up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support between the frame and rear suspension. They keep your ride level and stable, improving control, distributing weight evenly, and reducing tire wear so you stay confident behind the wheel even with a full load.
Every load is different, and being able to fine-tune your setup matters. These air springs let you manually adjust pressure between 5 and 100 psi through individual inflation valves. Add air when towing or carrying uneven loads for solid control, or drop pressure when unloaded for a smoother ride. Independent side-to-side adjustment helps level off-center weight so your truck stays balanced and composed no matter what’s in the back.
The double-convoluted design with four layers of reinforced rubber, a braided wire girdle, and corrosion-resistant metal end plates gives these springs serious durability under demanding loads. The rolled crimp seal keeps the air bags securely anchored, while the rubber construction absorbs road shock and softens axle-to-frame contact to prevent bottoming out. It’s a setup built to handle heavy use without leaks or sag over time.
Installing real load support doesn’t have to be complicated. The kit includes custom-fit brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate valves for manual inflation—everything you need for setup right out of the box. The brackets mount directly to your axle and frame for a secure fit, and while drilling may be required on some applications, it’s a straightforward job that most DIYers can handle with basic tools.

Still happy with this install, bags help tremendously over bridge joints hauling my 5th wheel. not sure how these compare to Timbren setup, but i would guess better based on being able to adjust pressure. way more stable over bridges and bends in road.

After 1 year of use, my Firestone airbags never let me down. Working perfectly. This is the 3rd trucks Ive run Firestone 5000 lbs. rated bags on with no issues.

Still working great as it should and doesnt leak air. The remote controller is really convenient and can be operated from inside or outside the truck. Definitely worth all the work. The shield I fabricated for the compressor keeps road grit etc. Out of the air intake of the compressor which should be a huge help for the life of the system. Love it.

I ended up adding an airlift compressor which was super easy to install and everything works great! I got tired of checking pressures, the air compressor monitors psi and kicks on if needed. I would buy and install these things again if I ever end up getting a new truck. Works great when towing my 12,000 pound bumper pull camper

Thanks for being honest with your review, Lee. It really is a bummer when a part, even as small as a nut, is missing causing a delay with the install. However, I'm glad that you were able to get everything installed and that the ride is better and safer now. When's the next camping trip?
