Required in most states, a safety chain acts as a backup if your trailer becomes disconnected from your tow vehicle. Attach the end link of this zinc-coated steel chain to your gooseneck coupler, and then hook the clevis hooks to loops in truck bed.

As shown in the illustration above, locate your safety chain mounting lugs on the rear underside of your Goose Box. Install the flat washer onto the bolt and put bolt and washer through the last link in the safety chain. Next, position bolt, washer, and chain assembly through the hole in the mounting lug, and secure with 1/2" nut and lock washer. Bolt should be torqued to 110 ft. lbs. Repeat the process for the other chain.
