Hello everybody, this is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the BulletProof Hitches 43 inch long Extreme Duty half inch safety chains with the clevis hooks. Have a 46,000 pound weight capacity and it is for a quantity of two chains. Now, these safety chains will help ensure safe towing. They do provide backup connection between the trailer and the tow vehicle, and they are required in most states. The end link right here is what'll attach to a safety chain mounting lug on your trailer frame and the clevis hook in right here is what'll connect to the safety chain loops on the vehicle.
If you notice, they have a safety latch on 'em to prevent the hook from coming detached. Now safety chains, when you install them, they should be crossed under the trailer tongue, and a longer chain like these will offer more hitch attachment options. It is a steel chain, it is strong and durable. If you notice, it has the zinc coating on it, that'll resist rust and corrosion. Weight capacity again is 46,000 pounds for the pair, so 23,000 pounds per chain.
Overall length again, if we measure and extend it all the way out, its about 43 inches. Again, the chain length diameter is a half an inch. Clevis opening, so if we push this safety latch all the way open and then measure this measurement here, the clever opening is one and one, one and a quarter inches. This is a grade 70 chain, which has zinc on it, and it is also available in a heavy duty three eights inch size chain that has a 26,000 pound weight capacity. That one sold separately, goes by a part number of BPH86RR, but that's gonna do it for the review on the Bulletproof Hitches 43 inch long Extreme Duty half inch safety chains with the clevis hooks.
