Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the BulletProof Hitches 38 inch long heavy duty 3/8 inch safety chains with the clevis hooks. Has a 26,400 pound weight capacity, and it is for a quantity of two chains. Now these safety chains will help ensure safe towing. These will provide backup connections between the trailer and your tow vehicle, and they are required in most states. The end link right here is what'll attach to the safety chain mounting log on your trailer frame, and the clevis hook on the other end is what'll connect to the safety chain loops on your vehicle.
If you notice, the clevis hook has a safety latch on it to prevent the hook from coming detached. Now safety chains should be crossed under the trailer tongue when you install them, and longer chains like these offer more hitch attachment options. The chain has a steel chain. It is strong and durable. You notice has a zinc coating on it to resist rust and corrosion.
And the weight capacity is 26,400 pounds for the pair, so it's 13,200 pounds per chain. Overall length, if we'd extend it out all the way, is about 38 inches long. The chain length diameter is 3/8 of an inch. And a measurement I wanna give you is the clevis hook opening. So if we push the safety latch all the way to the open as far as you can go, and then measure this opening right here, it's 1 1/8 inches.
It is a grade 70 chain. Now this is also available in a larger extreme duty half inch size chain that has a 46,000 pound capacity. We do sell that separate on our website, and that goes by a part number of BPH2RR. But that should do it for the review on the BulletProof Hitches 38 inch long heavy duty 3/8 inch safety chains with the clevis hooks.
