When you’re carrying kayaks, canoes, or a fully loaded cargo box, you want bars that feel solid. These Thule ProBar Evo crossbars are built from lightweight yet strong aluminum and have a 220-lb weight capacity. They handle the demands of long trips and heavy gear without flexing under pressure. You get the strength you need for serious hauling while keeping the setup light and durable.
Whether you’re loading up for a paddle weekend or heading out on a cross-country road trip, these bars give you options. Each bar has three channels—top, back, and bottom—so you can mount channel-style accessories exactly where you want them. The design also works with clamp-around accessories, so your existing racks and mounts stay compatible. It’s a setup that adapts easily to every kind of gear.
Driving with loaded crossbars can sometimes mean extra noise, but Thule’s built-in rubber strips help reduce drag and wind sound. The smoother airflow keeps highway drives calmer and more comfortable, even with gear on top. You’ll notice the difference when cruising at speed—less whistling, less vibration, more focus on the road ahead.
This complete system includes 2 ProBars, 4 Evo Clamp feet, and a custom fit kit for your vehicle’s naked roof. The fit is designed to be secure while protecting your roof surface during installation. For extra peace of mind, the bars accept Thule One-Key System locks (sold separately) to deter theft of the rack and accessories when parked overnight or at the trailhead.
With aluminum construction and Thule’s limited lifetime warranty, this setup is built for long-term reliability. The silver finish stays sharp through seasons of use, whether you’re hauling watercraft in summer or cargo boxes in winter. It’s a dependable platform that keeps up with your adventures year after year.

My purchase from etrailer.com was world class. And their service was superb. They are a 5-star organization. They are knowledgeable folks with experience in what they sell. They will quickly get you out of what would otherwise be a nasty, complex situation and make it look easy. You can trust this company. Put them to work for you. Note, I do not own stock in this company but wish I did.

I can see that you got the 52 inch Thule square bars. The square bars are known to whistle compared to the aerodynamic cross bars. I recommend the Thule AirScreen XT part # TH22WV to divert the wind up and over the cross bars to eliminate some of the wind noise.

Most of the time whistling occurs because the rubber strip is not covering the whole channel. You can find installation tips here in the attached expert answer. There will be some wind noise as with all brands of roof racks. Wind fairings greatly reduce that by adding an aero-dynamic ramp allowing the wind to flow over the roof rack. The Thule Wingbar Evo crossbars that you purchased are actually designed to act as a fairing so one would not be needed. You could still get one if you wanted to try it out. This one would be the best match for you: item # Y05018.

Bars are still working out awesome. The only time I notice any noise is when cartooning item with cover. It is the cover that makes noise. Not the bars. This has been remedied by placing foam pool noodle between lead bar and roof. If you use thicker size noodle just wedge in place. If using thinner size pool noodle a wrap or two of duct tape holds in place. Viola no sound from above.

Review of Entire set: After a year of using this, it still works very well. Easy to take on and off your car and make slight adjustments if needed. Only maintaining is really just cleaning it which is simple enough. No issues with lockingunlocking with the keys. It has definitely helped saved space for my tiny Honda Civic.
