Question:

I am looking at purchasing the Thule 60inch track system to mount on the top side of my trucks bed. My question is: Do I have to drill holes through the metal where I want to have the foot of the tower? Or does the tower slide into the rails to where ever position I want to have it at? I saw a video of a person using your same tracks but he bolted the tower feet into the base of the tracks making them permenently. I do not want that. I want the tower feet to slide and lock into whatever position I want. Could these tracks or any tower feet do that?

The Thule roof racks that would use the Thule Roof Mounted Top Rack System # THTP54 were intended to allow the feet of the rack to slide forward and back in them. I am not sure why the guy in the video you watched decided to bolt everything through the track but that's not the way it was intended.

You'd want to mount the tracks part # THTP54 and then use the fit kit part # THKIT3101 to mount the feet like part # TH460R. For your load bars, I recommend the Thule ProBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - 69" Long - Qty 2 # TH713600 or the 79" long # TH713700.

I have a Thule cargo rack which I want to put on 2017 Ford F250 Crew Cab Platinum with sun/moon roof. I am looking at the Thule Roof Mounted Top Rack System - 54 Long. Will I be able to use my sun/moon roof, if not, is there an extender to raise the cargo frame up high enough not to interfere with the portion of glass that opens? I have seen other pickups with cargo racks on their cabs.DO you offer any military discounts?I see you are located in WENTZVILLE, MO 63385, would you be able to install or recommend an installer for me?

We do have roof racks that will work on your 2017 Ford F-250 Crew Cab. I recommend the Thule roof rack consisting of the following: Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 60" Long - Qty 2 # TH711520 Evo Clamp Feet for Thule Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4 # TH710501 Fit Kit for Thule Evo Clamp Roof Rack Feet # TH145177 I also recommend getting the locks # TH450400 to deter theft This kit is a clamp on style rack designed specifically for your vehicle. It does not use the rail kit you mentioned, so there is no drilling into your truck cab or altering any factory parts. This will keep your warranty in tact and give you a system that will work well. It is not recommended to open the glass on your truck with any roof rack installed, so doing so is not covered by the warranty. People do this all the time when there isn't weight on the roof, but I still can't recommend it. The height will vary slightly from vehicle to vehicle but generally it will be about 2-7/8 inches from the top of your roof to the underside of the crossbars. We do installations, so you can call customer service at 800-298-8924 to set up an appointment and get more information.
