Will Yakima SkyBox NX Skinny Cargo Box Clear Sharkfin Antenna On 2020 Honda CRV?
Published 08/05/2025 >
Question:
I’ve got a 2020 Honda CR-V with a shark fin antenna near the back. Will this cargo box clear it, or is that going to be a problem?

That’s a common concern, Shauna, especially with today’s OEM roof rack designs. The good news is the NX Skinny # Y93QD has a slightly raised base that often clears low-profile antennas like the one on your CR-V.
If your crossbars are adjustable, slide them forward as much as possible to give your hatch and antenna extra space. Bonus tip: because the box is narrow, you can shift it slightly to one side during install, which also helps with clearance.
One way to really know is to measure from the top of your crossbars back and make sure they are taller than the antenna. They should be and I'd be surprised if they weren't.
You can check out the photo I attached which shows plenty of clearance in the antenna area on a Kia Seltos.
