Features to know about

Better Highway Control: Rear Bar Reduces Body Roll

Nothing throws off confidence like feeling your rig lean through a turn or sway in a crosswind. The 1-1/8" diameter Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar ties the axle to the chassis, balancing weight transfer and keeping the vehicle flatter through curves and quick maneuvers. It cuts out the side-to-side rocking that shows up when you’re hit by gusts or passing trucks, keeping things level and predictable on the highway.

Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar installed on vehicle rear axle, showing mounting to chassis and suspension for improved stability and reduced sway.

Less Fatigue on Long Drives: Stable, Easy Steering

You can feel the difference right away. By taking the fight out of crosswinds and body sway, the bar makes the steering steadier so you’re not constantly correcting. It’s easier to hold your line mile after mile, whether the road is smooth or uneven. The ride stays level, and the trip feels calmer and less tiring.

Built to Last: 4140 Chromoly Steel with Polyurethane Bushings

Roadmaster builds this bar from thick 4140 chromoly steel, a tougher alloy than standard 1020 steel. The larger diameter adds torsional stiffness, giving it nearly 30 percent more resistance to sway. Polyurethane bushings replace the usual rubber, standing up to oil, gasoline, and ozone without squishing out. The result is consistent support and long-term durability.

Close-up of Roadmaster anti-sway bar polyurethane bushings and hardware showing durable, long-lasting construction for improved vehicle stability.

Straightforward Install: Bolt-On Hardware with No Drilling

All the heavy-gauge mounting hardware, bushing lubricant, and easy-to-follow instructions come in the box. The bar bolts to the rear axle and chassis using existing points, so there’s no drilling required. It’s a clean, direct fit that works alongside popular suspension upgrades and gets you back on the road fast.

1. The install was pretty straightforward, it took me a little over an hour doing it myself. I went for a test drive an notice a major different in the ride, but the real test was when the wife said she not on a roller coaster ride. If you are looking to improve your Sprinter sway i would highly recommend this item.

by:

Only put about 2500 road miles on the vehicle. Go hit with 25 to 30 mph winds. And didn't even notice them. Handles great. Thank you

by:

The parts arrive in a good packaging, right on time I install them myself very easy instructions to follow, after I install everything, got out if my driveway and I notice a big difference good product and very easy and simple to install, I cannot forget to mention the customer service is excellent.

This is a short wheelbase high roof Sprinter that handles like a sportscar

by:

anti sway bar delivered, service was very good, anti-sway bar looks to be of excellent quality

by:

Part fit perfectly, corrected excessive sway in my 2018 sprinter campervan, 144 inch wb, tall.

by:

This is a must for my 12 passenger Sprinter. It helps reduce the effects of wind and of passing semi trucks on interstate highways. Helpful installation tip: you need to be on a level surface to install it.

by:

Etrailer has their act together. Great website to find what you’re looking for - really fast shipping- low prices on quality merchandise. Good after the sale service. I’m sold.

by:

It really helped reduce the sway in my high top Sprinter Van. Also changed the stock Helper springs to sumo brand ones.

by:

Another great product from etrailer. Bolted right on to my Sprinter 2500 144wb. Would be good if etrailer could show the instructions as one of the photos for the product so you know what you have to do before it arrives. This sway bar is a huge difference over the stock and was noticeable within 50' of driving the sprinter. One of the best mods you can make to your sprinter from a handling point.

by:

This is a great product and have used it on my motorhome before, road master sway bar replaces little stock sway bar and mounts in stock sway bar area, unlike hellwig sway bar that uses brackets on axle and slides out of original place, spend a little more and only buy roadmaster sway bars you will not regret it! Also Etrailer was fast in shipping and instal was really easy only took 25min!

by:

Exact fit for my Dodge Sprinter 2500 170wb with single rear tire. Complete with instructions and hardware.

The Sumo shocks made it possible for me to tow a small jeep behind my Sprinter van. We were ready to sell the van and the gang at etrailer just didnt give up until we had the swaying solved

2014 sprinter 2500 sway bar install , Being a non-mechanic the sway bar went in without a hitch probably took me a little over an hour to take the old one off and re-place it with the new one, I used two straps over the sprinter axle to hole the sway bar in place while I bolted it in. It definitely made the ride more stable though I still have to replace the rear shocks which will certainly also help , great product great service thanks

by:

Sway bar was easy to install and helped the handle of the Sprinter when driving with cross winds

The product arrived quickly and complete from etrailer. I had these installed on my 2011 Sprinter 2500 144" about a year ago by a regional tire store. Seems like they charged me an hours labor, maybe a bit more. At first they were a bit tentative about installing someone else's product, but once they saw it, they said no problem. I remember them saying it was really straightforward with no unexpected challenges.
Huge improvement. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but I noticed it immediately driving out of the mechanic's parking onto the street. The old rocking after crossing uneven ground is gone, but it's not too abrupt, either. I think it makes highway driving better as well but maybe that's my imagination. I've put on almost 20k miles since, and no complaints. Considering the many modifications and upgrades I've done since buying this Sprinter new, this is probably the best bang for my buck so far. Should have done it earlier, but I appreciate it more now, I suppose...

by:

The stock rear sway bar is pencil thin, after the very easy install the Van
was void of rocking passing trucks and swaying in driveways. My wife even commented on the ride improvement. Well worth the cost, with the shock upgrade and large tires the Van handles very well.

by:

One year review. This sway bar has worked out perfectly. Mad a big and noticeable difference when driving my Sprinter 2500 High top accross the windy plains. I’m pretty mechanical but even for a novice I think install wouldn’t be difficult. Just be sure to have the right bushings and bushing grease along with hardware brackets and bolts for your specific install. The folks at etrailer are really helpful with questions and troubleshooting as well.

by:

The sway bar is good quality and probably does help with the cornering and the wind buffing from the semi trucks on the freeway.
The negative side is the bolts supplied adapter kit were under sized diameter to the point of ratting when you walked back and forth in the camper. To correct the problem I had to drill the poorly punched holes in the shackle to a true 1/2" then purchase new bolts and lock nuts that fit the bushings. After all the labor and expenses the sway bar has worked as intended with no noise. The other thing I had not considered was how much traction you loose on uneven ground but that is the trade off with better highway control.

by:

Ordered on Monday and received on Friday. Installed on Saturday. No problem other than I had to trim the urethane bushings with a razor blade so hanger bar would fit over the sway bar end. Etrailer did an excellent job.

Bar made major improvement. Reduced understeer. Sold van and bought Ford Transit. Do not think Ford will require any suspension changes. It is already a much better handling van than the Sprinter.

The sway bar works perfectly...much less sway and no whiteknuckles when passing semis or windy days.

by:

This is the best thing you can do to improve your Sprinter!

by:

Product is great. Well packaged and great instructions. Easy to mount

by:

The bolts the bolts that attach the new sway bar are too short as the new sway bar is thicker and should have been included in the kit .
I was lucky to locate factory Mercedes Benz bolts of the proper length. From a 3500 Sprinter.

by:

The sway bar is high quality compared to the oem bar. I have a 2020 MBZ 2500 Sprinter 144. Basically, the roadmaster is three time the factory bar in terms of weight. And it shows. I took it on a ride down some winding roads and sharp turns and the back end feels much stiffer which equals control. I travel alot on Socal freeways to get to my destinations and it was very unnerving when driving next or passing freight trucks. I also pass through valleys and the winds can really making driving a bit uneasy. So, I anticipate this mod will add to my comfort level as well as my passengers. Time will tell. Now for some thing negative, well not quite but still some information buyers will need to know about installation. My van came with endlinks that were not compatible with the roadmaster. I knew this and order a set of end links for a 2019 model. Be aware that you will need new end links if you want to fit this bar to your 2020 model. At least that was the case for me. See pics. Overall, I'm satisfied and the cost is definitely worth the peace of mind.

  • Do You Have a Swaybar for a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500?
Hey Tony! I checked with our vendors and the only option for a sway bar on your 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 is the 1-1/8" Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar item # RM-1209-128. However, this is just meant as a replacement option for the factory one if your Sprinter came with one. The only option I have to help you with sway is the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-327-47-2. These are custom fit for your 4WD Sprinter and have a 5,000 lbs capacity. These two piece springs...

  • Recommended Sway Bar for 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500
Really good question Steve, The best option would come down to driving habits and how the Sprinter is being used. Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1209-128 is more aggressive sway control with a thicker 1-1/8 inch bar and known for maximum stability. So it's best when you have consistent heavy loads, top heavy lean or interstate travel. Hellwig Rear Sway Bar # HE54FR prioritizes ride comfort over maximum control and is often easier on rough pavement. So it's best for city and daily...

If you don't have a factory sway-bar you will also need the # RM-590064-00. If this is the 3500 you need # RM-1209-131 instead. We don't carry any shocks for the Sprinter but I would stick with the same Bilstein you have now.

Having that slight gap between the new SuperSprings # SSR-329-47 and the platform they make contact with is common not just with this brand but with others as well. It allows your suspension to compress some so as not to have too much of an effect on the unloaded ride quality. Since the springs are not engaging at the rear of your 2016 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 that means that the factory suspension is not compressed enough.
